PUBLIC MEETING
The City of Sanford Redistricting Advisory Committee for 2011 met
in Public Meeting on Thursday, August 4, 2011, in the City Commission
Chambers, First Floor, Sanford City Hall, 300 N. Park Avenue, Sanford, FL
32771.
Present: Don Schreiner, Chairman
Sharon Sears, Vice Chairman
Robert Kinney
Kenneth Bentley
Turner Clayton
Mark Hoen
James Davis
Kim House
Otto Garrett
Assistant City Attorney Lonnie Groot
City Clerk Janet Dougherty
Cynthia Porter, Deputy City Clerk

Chairman Schreiner called the meeting to order at 6:08 PM.
Mr. Schreiner distributed to Mr. Davis and Mr. Bentley a copy of the
two maps distributed at the July 20, 2011 meeting. He also gave a recap of that
meeting and provided the website address for My District Builder free software so
the Committee can experiment with drawing district lines: floridaredistricting.org.

PUBLIC MEETING
City Clerk Janet Dougherty distributed a copy of a map showing the
current City Commission Districts which was then discussed.
1. City Attorney review the guiding constitutional and other legal principles
associated with the jurisdiction and duties of the Committee.
2. Receive public input.
None.
Mr. Schreiner asked for input from each Committee member.
3. END THE MEETING.
Mr. Groot said that the next meeting will include a computer lab so
the Committee can get comfortable with the map software. Also, Mike Jones will
supply some maps.
There being no further business, the Chairman adjourned the
meeting at 6:56 PM.
