CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, Dpe emjpr 2 _T :30 P Mi 19--40-
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at 7:30 o(clock P.M.December 2, 1940.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Rev. Richardson, Pastor of Assembly of God Church, next appeared and requested
a permit to erect a concrete block structure church building on Lot l Block 14 Tier 8, locate
at the southwest corner of Laurel Ave, and Twelfth. St. Submitted a list of the property
owners within two blocks of the aforesaid location with twenty —four signed approvals of
the construction of a church at this location and three objecting to it.
Action deferred.
Commissioner Gut next introduced Ordinance No. 305, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE, HANDLING, STORAGE AND SALE FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS
AND THE PRODUCTS THEREOF IN THE CITY OF SANFORD) FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY FOR-THE VIOLATION 'OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE.
and same was placed on its first reading and read in full by the Clerk.
Consideration was next given-to adopting an ordinance regulating the construction,
installation, operation, maintenance and repair of house piping appliances and other
equipment in connection with the use of liquefied petroleum gas, final action being
deferred, pending further consideration.
Further consideration next given to the proposition-of M.M.Lord to decorate the
whiteway lamp posts in the business section with evergreen trees for the Christmas
holidays, at a price of 50¢ per post.
Thereupon after considerable discussion it was decided that the City should only
pay the cost of decorating lamp posts in front of City —owned property , and on motion
duly carried, the Commission authorized the decorating of the lamp posts in front of -the City
Hall and Municipal Zoo.
There being no further business the meeting then adjourned until 3:30 o'clock P.M.
December 6, 1940.
