CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA., December 29 4* 7:30 P M 19_31
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Meeting at the
City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. December 28, 1931.

Absent: Commissioner T.L.Dumas, Mayor
Commissioner Lehman having been appointed Acting Mayor during the absence of
Mayor- Commissioner Dumas, took the Chair.
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Minutes of Regular Meeting of December 14th., read and approved.
In compliance with request under date of December 14th., Engineer Fred T.Wil-
liams next submitted drawings showing extent of fill on the various parcels of land in the
completed portion of the West Side Bulkhead District, and after consideration Mr. Williams
was requested to interview the owners with a view to obtaining certain portions of this
land in exchange for the release of the bulkhead liens against it.
On motion duly adopted, the Seminole County Sentinel was next designated as the
newspaper to carry the legal advertising in the second series of foreclosure suits being
instituted by City Attorneys Wilson and Boyle.
On motion duly adopted, the payment of $50.00 to apply on the payroll at the
Municipal Golf Course for the week ending December 26th. 1931 was next authorized.
In view of the death of Mr. J.B.Howard, the Commission next rescinded the
permit heretofore given to Mr. Howard to operate a peanut stand on the parkway on Park
Avenue at the North West intersection of Park Avenue and First Street.
Building Inspector Paxton next reported to the Commission the hazardous con-
dition of an old building on the East side of Oak Avenue between First and Second Streets
formerly occupied by the Fernald Hardware Company.
Thereupon the Clerk was instructed to communicate with I.W.Phillips, the
owner of this building, with a view to having it demolished, and report at the next regular
meeting of the Commission.
The Clerk next presented the annual audit of the books and records of the
City of Sanford for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1931, prepared by Pentland,
Gray and Moore, Certified Public Accountants, and same was ordered filed
City Attorney Wilson next rendered an opinion, in writing, that the City would
not have the authority to accept an offer of Mr R B Wight to lend money to the City for
the purpose of erecting an airplane hangar on the new municipal aviation field.
Commissioner Leffler next moved that $200.00 be transferred from the Contin-
gent fund appropriation to the Aviation Field appropriation.
Seconded by Commissioner Byrd and carried.
The meeting then adjourned$ to meet again at 7:30
o'clock P . M., January 5, 1932.
