The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford Florida at Three O'Clock P M March 15, 1929- Present: Commissioner, Nelson Gray - Mayor " S 0 Chase If Frank L Miller " R A Newman " Vivian A Speer City Attorney, Fred R Wilson City Manager, G H Cairns. City Clerk, F S Lamson Chief of Police, R G Williams Mr J T Pope presented application to construct gasoline filling station at the Southeast cornerof Celery Ave and Cypress Ave., and upon the recommendation of City Manager C Commissioner Newman moved that the permit be granted. Seconded by Commissioner Gray, and the roll being called, the vote stands as f ollows : Commissioner Gray Aye " Chase Aye " Miller Aye " Newman Aye " Speer Aye The Next matter for consideration was the petition filed-at the last regular meeting that the Commission recommend to the Seminole County members of the Legislature the passage of a bill excluding certain territory in the southern part of the City , from the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida. After considerable discussion, Commissioner Gray moved that this land be left in the City limits but that the wild land be taxed as acreage and the improved property on a low valuation, commensurate with the value received from the City. Seconded by Commissioner Newman, and the roll being called , the vote stands as follows: Commissioner Gray Aye " Chase Aye " Miller No " Newman Aye " Speer Aye Commissioner Speer next moved that the City Attorney be instructed to check the deeds obtained for right -of -way for Seminole Boulevard in the west Side Bulkhead District, and if found, as reported, that all except one have been obtained, that he draw up the proper papers necessary to abandon the West Side Bulkhead project from Cloud Branch west to the weste limits of this District. Seconded by Commissioner Gray, and the roll being called, the vote stands as fol- lows: Commissioner Gray If Chase Miller " Newman Speer Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye ;I MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, March 15 3 P M 19---?9 Commissioner Newman moved that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare bill for passage at the coming meeting of the Legislature giving the City authority to remit ast ,due all interest on unpaid taxes prior to 1929, also all interest on /paving installments and paving installments which may become due during the year 1929, provided, said taxes and paving installments are paid /prior to December310,1929• f ollows: Seconded by Commissioner Speer, and the roll being called, the vote stands as Commissioner Gray Aye Chase Aye " Miller Aye " Newman " Speer Commissioner Miller move including costs of collection, due to Seconded by Commissioner follows: Aye Aye. personal i that the 1927 /tax of F P Rines be reduced to $25.00 over— assessment. City Manager Cairns presented the need for a master meter to be used at the Water Pumping Station, an d was instructed to get prices and terms and submit to the Commission at the next regular meeting.
