CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, - 19,
The City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida met in Special Session
at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida at Two O101ock P.M , February 19, 1929.
Present: Commissioner , Nelson Gray, Mayor.

Reading of minutes of last regular meeting dispensed with.
The Chairman announced that the first matter to be brought up for consideration
is the question of delinquent street paving installments and what steps could be taken to
enforce the payment of these past due items.
After considerable discussion, the Clerk was instructed to prepare an itemized
list of a number of lots taken from each of the outside subdivisions, where neither paving
City nor State & County taxes have been paid, and present to the Commission at the next
Regular meeting, said list when approved to be delivered to the City Attorney with instruct-
ions to start foreclosure proceedings.
Mr Miller next asked to be excused to attend a funeral, which permission was grantee
by the Chair.
The next matter to be broughA-up for consideration was that of the collection of
old unpaid gas and water bills.
Mr Speer then moved that the City Manager, Cairns be given authority to make
adjustments on these delinquent gas and water bills and to take steps to obtain payment
on that basis, or else apply for a judgment.

The matter of the payment for water being used by P M Keeley in Pinehurst for the
watering of parkways was then brought up for consideration, Mr Keeley claiming that this
water is being used on City property and refusing to pay for it.
Thereupon, Mr Gray moved that this water be shlit off at once, until such time as
the delinquent water bills are paid.
Seconded by Mr-Chase, and the roll being called, the vote stands as follows:

The Clerk presented quit- claim,deed from the Sanford Yacht Club, to the City of
Sanford, of the Yacht Club Building, and also form of lease to be entered into between
the City of Sanford and the Sanford Yacht Club, leasing said yacht club building to the
Sanford Yacht Club for a period of ten years, at an annual rental of $1.00 per year.

the preparation of these documents by the City Attorney having been authorized by the
City Commission under date of October 22nd. 1928.
Thereupon, Commissioner Gray moved the acceptance by the City of said quit -claim
deed, and also that the Mayor and City Clerk be instructed to execute said lease with the
Sanford Yacht Club.

City Manager Cairns presented , for approval and execution, lease between the
City of Sanford and Chase & Co. , leasing Lot 22 of Pace Acres to Chase & Co. , for a
period of one year, at an annual rental of $300.00 , payable in advance.
Thereupon, Commissioner Newman moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
and instructed to execute said lease in the name of the City of Sanford, Florida.

Invoices of Haynes & Ratliff for $563.00 , representing cost of printing 15,000

City of Sanford advertising folders ordered by the Sanford Chamber of Commerce under authority
issued by the City Commission on November 13, 1928 was approved and ordered paid.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
