ADJOURNED REGULAR SESSION OF THE CITY COMMISSION , NOVEMBER 12, 1929 AT 2 :00 P M .
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned Regular Session
at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida at Two 0101ock P M. November 12, 1929.

Minutes of Regular Session of October 28th, Adjourned Session of October 29th, Adjourned
Session of November lot, Special Session of November 6th, and Regular Session of November
11th, 1929 read and approved.
The Clerk next presented communication -from Mr B F Whitner stating his inability to serve
as one of the Inspectors of the Election to be held on December 3, 1929•
Thereupon, Commissioner Newman moved that Mrs S Puleston be appointed to serve as Inspect
of the General Election to be held on December 3, 1929 in place of qtr Whitner.
Seconded by Commissioner Miller and unanimously carried.
On motion adopted, invoice of Lucien H Boggs, Special Counsel, for $39,22, covering ex-
penses incurred in suit of City of Sanford, Florida, Vs. Chase National Bank of New York,
was approved and clerk ordered to draw check in payment of same.
Communication read from Special Counsel, George A DeCottes, stating that the trial of the
suit of the City of Sanford Vs. the Chase National Bank of New York has been set for November
27th, 1929, that it will be necessary that both he and Mr Lucien H Boggs be in New York for
from ten days to two weeks to attend this trial, and requesting that both Mr DeCottes and
Mr Boggs be furnished with expense money in the sum of $400.00 for each.
Commissioner Miller moved that the request be granted and that the Clerk be instructed
to draw two checks for $400.00 each, one in favor of George A DeCottes and the other in
favor of Lucien H Boggs, as expense money on the trip to New York City aforesaid.
Seconded by Commissioner Speer and unanimously carried.
Invoice of George A DeCottes and Lucien H Boggs, Special Counsel , for $1000.00, repress
ing fee for professional services rendered under their contract, in defending the City of

Sanford, Florida against suit brought in the Federal Court at Tampa , Florida by the
Fifth —Third Union Trust Co. to recover on certain alleged time warrants of the City of
Sanford, Florida, was approved and payment ordered.
Current invoices and payrolls for the month of October 1929, properly audited and
vouchered by the Accounting Department, submitted, examined , approved and the Clerk in-
struoted to draw checks in payment of same.
Bank statements in all accounts, properly reconciled, submitted and examined.
Monthly reports of the Street, Sanitation, health, Water and Library Departments
submitted and ordered filed.
Financial Statement and statement of expenditures and revenues for the month of
October 1929, submitted, examined and ordered filed.
On motion of Commissioner Miller, seconded by Commissioner Newman and unanimously
adopted, $41.20 of the 1927 Personal Tax assessed against C J Marshall was ordered cancelled
due to overassessment.
The Clerk next presented notification from the United States Engineer Office, War
Department, that the permit issued covering the West Side Bulkhead District would become
null and void on the 31st. day of December 1929, unless work is completed or the time for
completion specifically extended prior to that date.
After a thorough discussion of this matter, and in view of the fact that assurance
has been given that the State Road Department would include the construction of a Highway
along the retaining wall from Myrtle Avenue to the Lake Monroe Bridge, in-its next year's
budget, the Clerk was instructed to apply for an extension of this permit in order to
expidite matters at such time as the State Road Department completes this project.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned to meet again at 3 O'Clook P M
November 15th, 1929
