The City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida met in Regular Session at the
City Hall in-Sanford Florida, at Two 0101ock P M September 9, 1929•
Present: Commissioner Nelson Gray, Mayor.

Minutes of Adjourned Session of August 23rd, 1929 , Regular Session of August 26th
1929, and adjourned session of August 27th, 1929 read and approved.
Mrs J E Wathen appeared with reference to condemnation proceedings against the property
known as the Lincoln House .
Mrs Wathen was instructed to confer with Mr Partin, the Mortgagee of this property and
if an agreement was reached, to then apply to the City for a permit to tear down this build -
ing.
The Clerk was then instructed to issue this permit upon appliaction being made.
Current invoices and pay rolls for the month of August 1929 properly audited and vouchered
by the Accounting Department, submitted, examined, approved and the Clerk instructed to draw
uhecks in payment of same.
Bank statements in all accounts, properly reconciled, submitted and examined.
Monthly reports of the Street, Sanitation, Health, Water and Library Departments sub—
witted and ordered f iled.
Financial Statement and statement of expenditures and revenues for the month of August
1929, submitted, examined and ordered filed.
G P Paxton, Sanitary Inspector , reported a list of cases where sanitary conditions
are bad due to water being turned off on account of non— payment of water bills.
Thereupon Mr Paxton w,s'instructed to furnish a list of these names to the Water Depart -
ment in order that the water may be turned on again, the bills for the water used to be
held until such time as the tenants of these premises obtain work and can pay them
On motion duly adopted, charge of Tom Mosely of $10.00 for digging grave at cemetery
was ordered paid.
Clerk submitted letter from Chase & Company advising that they do not wish to renew the
lease on the City property adjacent to the ball park, and on motion duly adopted, said
lease was ordered cancelled.
On motion duly adopted, the Clerk was instructed to notify Mr R C Bower that in case the
rental of the property in St. Gertrude's Addition covered by lease dated November 15, 1927
is :not paid at once, -that said lease will be immediately cancelled.

On motion duly adopted, purchase of tractor crawler
Company at a price of $300.00, was approved, payment to be made at the rate of $50.00 per
month, commencing August 10, 1929•
On motion duly adopted, bill of the Sanford Herald for $17.22 representing fire prevention
advertisement in the December 24, 1927 issue of the Sanford Herald was ordered approved and
paid.
On motion duly adopted $6.67 was ordered cancelled from the 1926 personal tax assessment
against Volie A Williams on account of over — assessment.
On motion duly adopted the Clerk was instructed to draw check for $100.00 in favor of

the American LaFrance & Foamite Industries Inc. to apply as payment on account of balance
due, amounting to $697.97-, and to execute, together with the Mayor, note for the balance,
amounting to $597.97 for one year, drawing interest at the rate of 6 per cent per annum.
The City Commission neat proceeded to sit as a Tax Equalization Board to hear any and
all complaints that may be registered as to the assessed valuations as prepared by the Tax
Assessor for the year 1929•
Thereupon the following objections were registered and taken under advisement:
