CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, October 26 at 2 P M 19-2-9
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Regular Session at the City
Hall, Sanford Florida, at Two O'clock P M , October 28, 1929•
Present ; Commissioner Vivian A Speer.-Mayor

Chief of Police, R G Williams
Absent: Commissioner S 0 Chase.
Minutes of Adjourned Regular Session of October 21st., 1929 read and approved.
On motion duly adopted, Ordinance Nos. 166 and 169 adopted by the City Commission on
October 21st 1929, were ordered "posted" instead of advertised.
Application for ten minute parking spaces on Sanford Avenue between Fifth and Sixth
Streets received and referred to Chief of Police Williams for attention.
Application from I D Martin for permit to construct - gasoline filling station at the
southwest corner of Celery and Mellonville Ave, said filling station to comply with all
ordinances regulating construction of same.
The Clerk reported verbal approval of this permit being granted by the City Planning
Commission through its Chairman, Mr George D Bishop.
Thereupon, Commissioner Miller moved that said permit be granted.
Seconded by Commissioner Newman and unanimously harried.

Upon motion of Commissioner Newman, seconded by Commissioner Miller and unanimously adopt-
ed.i the following 1927 personal taxes were ordered cancelled, due to over- assessment:

The Clerk next presented communication from the American LaFrance and Foamite Industries
Inc, agreeing to accept check for $100.00 as part payment on old balance, the City to execute
note for the balance amounting to $597.97, for one year, with interest at the rate of Six
Per cent per annum , with the privilege of renewing at the end of that period if desired.
Thereupon, Commissioner Newman moved that this proposition be accepted with the exception
that the check be made for $97.97, and the note for $600.00, and that the Mayor and Clerk be
authorized to draw check and execute note, dated October 1, 1929, in the amounts aforesaid
as full payment of old balance due the American LaFrance Fire Engine Company, amounting to
$697.97
Seconded by Commissioner Miller and unanimously adopted.
The Mayor was next authorized to issue proclamation calling a General Election and a
Special Election, both elections to be held on December Third, 1929, the General Election.
for the purpose of electing two commissioners to succeed Commissioners Speer and Chase,
whose terms of office expire in January of 1930, and the Special Election for the purpose of
electing one Commissioner to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Gray, resigned.
The following were designated as the Clerk and Inspectors of these elections:
