The City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida, met in adjourned Session at the
City Hall in Sanford, Florida at Three 0101ock P M November 15, 1929-
Presnet Commissioner Vivian A Speer, Mayor.

The Clerk presented two petitions, each signed by twentyf ive or more qualified voters of
the City of Sanford, Florida, requesting that the names of B W Herndon and W A Leffler,
respectively, be placed upon the official ballot for the Special Election to be held on Dec.
3j, 1929 to elect a Commissioner to serve the unexpired term of former Commissioner Nelson
Gray, resigned.
Thereupon, in view of the fact that each of the foregoing petitions was signed by the
required number of qualified voters of the City of Sanford, Florida, and in view of the
fact that the petitions were delivered to the Clerks office not less than twenty days
prior to the date of the election, thus complying with regulations governing the filing of
petitions to fill a vacancy on the City Commission, the Clerk was instructed to have the names
of B W Herndon and W A Leffler printed on the official ballot for the Special Election to be
held on December 3. 1929•
Application received from R N Nipper to erect electric display sign two and one half f
by, four feet in size over the parkway on the west side of Park Avenue north of Comae rcial St.
and in front of the Tasty Shop.
On motion duly adopted permit as requested was ordered granted..
The Clerk next presented continuation certificate for one year from November 16, 1929
on...,. Depository_ BoraL...for... $.50.,ODO.00 issued by the Maryland Casualty Company, protecting City'_
of Sanford deposits in the Sanford Atlantic National Bank, and same was approved,
Commissioner Miller neat moved that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare for
passage and adoption by the Commission, ordinances repealing all bonding ordinances or
resolutions heretofore enacted but under which the bonds had not been sold, to -wit:
Wo ,000.00 Municipal Docks and Wharves.
50,000.00 Municipal Fire Station.
40,000.00 Police Electric Call System.
250,000.00 Hospital Bonds.
300,000.00 Old Issue authorized to pay for City's s#are in street paving when City was
paying one -third of cost of street improvements.
310,000.00 Electric Light Plant Bonds.
77,000.00 Unsold blance.of A -1 Issue.
The meeting then adjourned.
