HomeMy WebLinkAbout082729MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,_ A11;016t 27- at 2 P id 19-29 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida , at Two O'Clock P M August 27th. 1929• Present: Commissioner Nelson gray, Mayor " Frank L Diller " R A Newman " Vivian A Speer City Attorney, Fred R Wilson City Clerk, F S Lamson Absent: Commissioner S 0 Chase. The purpose of the meeting was to confer with Mr Rawlings, Receiver of the First National Bank, with reference to turning over to the City certain securities deposited with the Trust Department of the First National Bank by the Commercial Department of said Bank, to protect the City's deposits therein, and for which the City holds the receipt of the Trust Department. After considerable discussion, Mr Rawlings agreed to telegraph the Comptroller for the required authority to deliver these securities to the City. Mr G P Paxton, Sanitary Inspector, requested instructions with reference to the handling of cases where the sanitary conditions are bad, due to the cutting off of water by the Water Department on account of non- payment of bill, and it appearing that the occupants of these premises are unable to get enough money to have the water turned on again. On motion duly adopter, Mr Paxton was instructed to make a detailed report at the next regular meeting of the Commission. Mr T L Dumas, Superintendent of the A C L R.R. Co. requested permission to deflect a ditch now cutting through the grounds at the Railroad Station so as to pass around this property instead of through it and thus allow the grounds to be beautif ied. Mr J M Moughton, Superintendent of Streets and Parks, reported that he had investigated this matter and could see no reason why the request should not be granted. Thereupon, Commissioner Newman moved that the permission be granted. Seconded by Commissioner Miller and adopted by the following vote: Commissioner gray Aye Miller Aye n Newman Aye N Speer Aye The meeting then adjourned to meet again on September 3, 1929, at Two- Thirty P M Attest: 0 City Clerk. 1 1
