HomeMy WebLinkAbout110629136 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, November 6 12 M. 19 -29 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Special Session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at Twelve O'Clook Noon, November 6, 1929. Present: Commissioner Vivian A Speer, Mayor. Frank L Miller R A Newman City Attorney, Fred R Wilson City Clerk, F S Lamson Absent: Commissioner S 0 Chase. The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the returns of the Primary Election held on November 5, 1929 for the purpose of nominating two candidates to be voted upon at the Gen Election on December 3, 1929, for the positions of City Commissioner to suo.ceed Commiss S 0 Chase and Vivian A Speer, whose terms of office expire on January 7, 1930.' Thereupon, the Commissiow proceeded to canvass the returns of Said Primary Election, and found the canvass to be as shown by the Clerk and Inspectors of the Election, to —wit: . . �. For H J Lehman 266 votes ro No For Leon L LeRoy 99 votes For Vivian A Speer 194 votes. Mutilated ballots thrown out _„2 ballots. Total votes cast '2g4 Thereupon, upon motion duly adopted, H J Lehman was declared to be the Regularly elected nominee in Group No. 1 and Vivian A.Speer was declared to be the regularly elected nominee in Group No. 2, for the positions of City Commissioner, to be voted upon by the people at the General Municipal Election to be held on December 3, 1929. The Clerk was next instructed to pay $10.00 to each of the Inspectors and the Clerk of the Primary Election held on November 5, 1929 as salary for their services. The meeting then ad -journed.
