SPECIAL MEETING OF COMMISSION DEC. 4 at 12 O'Clock Noon, 1929•

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 12 O'Clock Noon, December 4, 1929•
Present: Commissioner Vivian A Speer, Mayor

City Attorney, Fred R Wilson
City Clerk, F S Lamson.
The Commission first canvassed the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the Gener
Election held on December 3, 1929, and found the canvass to be as shown by the Clerk
and Inspectors of the Election, to -wit:
Group No 1
For H J Lehman 245 Votes
#group No. 2
For Vivian A Speer 239 Votes
For B W Herndon 1 vote
For W A Leffler 1 Vote
Mutilated Ballots thrown out 5
Total ballots cast 271
THEREUPON, upon motion of Commissioner Newman, Seconded by Commissioner Miller and
unanimously carried, H J Lehman and Vivian A Speer were declared to be the regularly
elected Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida in Groups 1 and 2, respectively,
for the three year terms commencing the First Tuesday after the First `Monday; in January
1930.
The Commission next canvassed the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the Special
Election held on December 3, 1929, and found the canvass to be as shown by the Clerk
and Inspectors of the Election to -wit:
For : B W Herndon 56 Votes
For :,,W A Leffler 213 Votes
Mutilated ballots thrown out 1
Total ballots cast
270
THEREUPON, upon motion of Commissioner Newman, seconded by Commissioner Miller
and unanimously carried, W A Leffler was declared to be the regularly elected Commissione
of the City of Sanford, Florida, to serve the unexpired term of Nelson Gray , resigned.
Commissioner Miller next moved that the Clerks and Inspectors of the two elections 11"'_'
held on December 3, 1929, be paid $10.00 each for their services.
Seconded by Commissioner Chase and unanimously carried.
Commissioner Miller next moved that the action taken by the City Commission by
Resolution No. 388, adopted on the 2nd. day of December , 1929 with regard to the
settlement with the First National Bank of Sanford,be ratified and confirmed by this
Body as a'whole.
Seconded by Commissioner Newman and carried by the following vote:

Commissioner -Elect W A Leffler , being present, was then sworn in and took office
as a member of the City Commission.
The meeting then adjourned.
