HomeMy WebLinkAbout102929MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, October 29 3 P X 19 29 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned session at the City Hall, Sanford Florida, at Three 0101ock P M , October 29, 1929. Present: Commissioner Vivian A Speer, Mayor. N Frank L Miller 0 R A Newman City Attorney, Fred R Wilson. City Clerk, F S Lamson Absent: Commissioner S 0 Chase. The first matter brought to the attention of the Commission was the fact that many registered voters , through oversight or unfamiliarity with the new regulations govern- ing the payment of Poll Tax, had failed to pay their Poll Tax in time to qualify for the Primary Election to be held on November 5th. 1929• ,Thereupon, Commissioner Newman moved that the final date for the payment of Poll Tax in order to qualify for the Primary Election to be held on November 5th. be extended to Saturday, November 2nd, 1929• Seconded by Commissioner Miller and unanimously adopted. The next matter for consideration was a report that the Sanford Gas Co, were not com- plying with the regulations with reference to tearing up and repairing City Streets, and after some discussion, the Clerk was instructed to notify the Gas Company that no City Street shall be torn up without proper permit being obtained from the City Hall, and then only on condition that the paving shall be placed in as good condition as prior to being torn up. Commissioner Newman next moved that the City Attorney be instructed to bring suit on all City of Sanford liens against the Forrest Lake Hotel which have become delinquent.'
