CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, September 19 7:30 P M 19 35
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Adjourned
Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'Clock P.M.
September 19, 1935.
Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas
It W.A.Leffler
" H J Lehman.
If S. 0. Shinholser
City Attorney Fred R.Wilson
City Clerk F.S.Lamson.
Absent: Commissioner V.A.Speer.
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Mayor.
The Chairman then announced that the meeting was held for the purpose of
further consideration and study of the budget of revenues and expenditures for
the f iscal year 1935 -1936.
Thereupon the Commission proceeded to a careful study of this budget,
final action being deferred pending further consideration.
Request next received from Mrs Moughton, Librarian, for authority to employ
Mrs F.r.Rines as Assistant Librarian for one month at a salary of $50.00 per month.
Request granted together with permission for Mrs Moughton to take two
weeks vacation during this month.
Communication next read from Mrs J P Wells, Guardian for Mrs J Lilja,
advising that Mrs Lilja's second husband Mr J.A.Brigham died Nov. 1, 1933, and
requesting widow's exemption for Mrs Lilja on her property in Sanford for the year
1932 and subsequent.
In view of the fact that Mr. Brigham did not die until Nov 1 1933, request
could not be granted although widow's exemption was ordered allowed for the years
1934 end 1935•
Homestead exemption application for, Mrs Lilja also furnished by Mrs Wells,
and in view of the fact that Mrs Lilja is prevented from living in her home in
Sanford due to a nervous breakdown, this exemption was ordered allowed.
The meeting then adjourned.
