CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, December 24 at 7:30 P M_19 34
The City Commission of the City of Sanford , Florida, met in Regular Session
at the City Hall in Sanford Florida at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. December 24, 1934,
with Mayor W.A.Leffler, City Attorney Wilson, and City Clerk Lamson
in attendance, but due to lack of a quorum, immediately adjourned to meet
again at 7:30 O'clock P.M. , Wednesday, January 2, 1935•

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida , met in Adjourned Regular
session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. January
2nd. 1935.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Request received from Mr. J.W.Rutledge that the City defray cost of repair-
ing his wife's eye glasses broken when she fell over a sidewalk needing
repair at Sixt)Z Street and Palmetto Avenue.
Matter taken under consideration.
The Clerk neat reported $4800.00 ava- ilable to apply on judgment of the Bond-
holders Protective Committee and $900.00 to apply on judgment of DeCottes
and Boggs, and on motion of Commissioner Dumas, seconded by Commissioner
Shinholser and carried, same were ordered pfid.
Communication next read from the Sanford Atlantic National Bank advising
that effective February let, 1935, it will be necessary to reduce the rate
of interest to be paid on City deposits from 1% to 1/2 of 1 %.
Thereupon Commissioner Dumas moved that the letter be acknowledged,
advising the Bank that the City will accede to this requirement until
such time as notice is extended to the contrary.

Seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried.
On recommendation of the Municipal Judge, concurred in by the Chief of
Police, Commissioner Shinholser'next moved that $100.00 of the fine against
J.B.Ferrell, sentenced in the Municipal Court under date of December 31, 1934,
to a total of $215.00 or 130 days, be suspended, upon good behavior, provided
the balance of $115.00 is paid in cash at once.
Seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried.
The Clerk next reported that the $50.00 appropriated by the Commission
under date of October 25th, for use by the Salvation Army in supplying meals
and lodging for indigent transients, had become exhausted.
Thereupon Commissioner Lehman moved that an additional $50.00 be appropriated
for this purpose.
Seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried.
Consideration was next given to the number of whiteway posts installed
on First 6treet from Sanford Avenue east to San Juan Avenue, it appearing that
many more of these posts were erected on this street than were necessary or
could reasonably be expected to be lighted.
Thereupon Commissioner Lehman moved that every other whiteway post on First
Street from Sanford Avenue east to San Juan Ave. be removed.
Seconded by Commissioner Dumas and carried.
The meeting then adjourned to meet again at 5:30 O'Clock P.M. January 3rd.
