submitted for the Board's review samples of his work. Mr. Schreyer
and his students are doing a documentary photography project on
Sanford. The resulting exhibit will be at the First Street Gallery
March 5, 1993. It was requested that the Board consider
contributing $300 towards printing a brochure which will index the
documentary photography project and also provide the Board access
to the photographs.
Discussion was held regarding the purpose of the Board's Ordinance.
The purpose is to promote the educational, cultural, and economic
welfare of the public of the City by preserving and <protecting
historic structures, sites, monuments, streets, areas and
neighborhoods which serve as visible reminders of the history and
cultural heritage of the City.
Laura Straehla moved to recommend to the City Commission for their -
consideration to approve a contribution of $300 from the Historic
Preservation Board's FY 92/93 Budget to be donated to Peter
Schreyer, Creadle School of Arts, for printing of the brochure
indexing the documentary photography project on Sanford, with the
stipulation that the photographs be available, not including
printing cost, for the Board's access. Seconded by Kay
Bartholomew. Under discussion it was recommended that the brochure
list a credit as to where the funds were donated. Motion was
carried by unanimous vote.
Mr. Olinger stated he will prepare a statement for the brochure
indicating where the funds were donated from.
There being no further business before the board, the meeting was
adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
