The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in special session on
the 10th day of October A.D.1923 at 10 O'clock A Rat the City Hall in Sanford, Florida
for the purpose.of canvassing the returns of the bond election held in the City of San
Florida on the 9th 'day of October 1923•
Present, Commissioners Forrest Lake, S 0 Chase and C J Marshall
The City Commission then proceeded to canvass the returns of the bond election held
on October 9th 1923, for th -e approval or rejection of ordinance 56 of the City of Sanfor
Florida entitled,
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the
sum of Eighty thousand Dollars for Municipal purposes, the proceeds derived from the
sale thereof to be used to enlarge, improve and extend the sewerage and drainage system
of the City of Sanford, Florida.,"
Ordinance No. 57 of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled,
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of Bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the
sum of Seventy -five thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the Proceeds derived from
the sale thereof to be used to purchase and acquire the necessary land for a Public
Park or parks, Fair Grounds, Athletic Field and Golf Grounds, and to` improve and develop.
the Lands so purchased to make the same adaptable for the purposes aforesaid, ", and
Ordinance No. 58 of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled,
"An Ordinance providing for. an issue of Bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida,. in the
sum of Five Thousand Dollars, the proceeds to be derived from the sale thereof to be
used to purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment for the Municipal Library,
and to determine the question whether bonds to the amount of Eighty Thousand ($50,000)
Dollars, bearing interest at the rate of Five and One -half (51) per centum per annum

interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to mature July first 1953, should be issued
by the City of Sanford, Florida, as stated ans set forth in Ordinance No. 56, to determi a
the question whether bonds to the amount of Seventy -five thousand Dollars, bearing int-
erest at the rate of Five and One -half (5) per centum , interest payable semi - annually,
said bonds to mature July first 1953, should be issued by the City of Sanford, Florida,
as stated and set forth in Ordinance No. 57, and to determine the question whether
bonds to the amount of Five Thousand Dollars, bearing interest at the rate of Five and
one -half (5q) per centum per annum, interest payable semi - annulaly, said bonds to mature
July first, 1953, should be issued by the City of Sanford, Florida, as-t.stated and set
forth in Ordinance No. 55, and from the canvass of said returns found the result of
said election to be as follows:

No. 56, and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of $50,000.00

Whereupon, the following order and resolution was duly passed and adopted.
Whereas, the returns of the election ordered to be held on the 9th Day of.
October A.D.1923, in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the approval or rejection of that
certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No. 56 entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida,
the sum of Eighty-Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived for the
sale thereof to be used to enlarge, improve and extend the sewerage and drainage system
of the City of Sanford, Florida,"
and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City
of Sanford, Florida, to the amount of $80,000.00, bearing interest at the rate of Five
and one -half (5 -) per centum per annum, interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to
mature July let, 1953, for the purpose set forth in said Ordinance No. 56, have been m
to this Commission by the Inspectors of said election, and,
Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed by Said Commission, and the
canvass of said returns shows, 431 votes to have been cast for the approval of said
ordinance,
and for the issuance of
bonds, and 154,
votes to have been cast against said
ordinance
and against the issuance
of said bonds,
and.,
Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said returns it is found.that a majority
of 277 votes were cast in favor of said ordinance and in favor of the issucane of said
bonds, there fore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS COMMISSION, and it is so declared that the result
of said election held on the 9th day of October 1923, as aforesaid shows that a majority
of voters participating in said election voted in favor of that certain ordinance of
the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No. 56, entitled,
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds, by the City of Sanford, Florid
in the sum of Eighty Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from
the sale thereof to be used to enlarge, improve and extend the sewerage and drainage
system of the City of Sanford, Florida,"
and for the issucane of bonds in the sum of $80,000.00 to be used for the purpose aford
said, and
Whereas, it further appears from the returns of said election held on the
9th day of October A.D.1923. as aforesaid, in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the
approval or rejection of that certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -with
Ordinance No. 57, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of Bonds by the City of Sanford, Fla.
in the sum of Seventy Five Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the Proceeds from

and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City of
Sanford Florida, to the amount of $75,000.00 bearing interest at the rate of Five and
One -Half (5J) per centum per annum, interest payable semi- annuklly, said bonds to
mature July lst,1953, for the purposes set forth in said Ordinance No. 57 have been
made to this Commission by the Inspectors of said election, and,
Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed by Said Commission and the canvass
of said teturns shows 376 votes to have been cast for the approval of said ordinance
and for the issuance of said bonds, and 203 votes to have been cast against the issuance
of said bonds, and,
Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said teturns it is found that a majority of
173 votes 'were cast in favor of said ordinance and in favor of the issuance of said bonds
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS COMMISSION, and it is so declared, that the result of
said .election held on the 9th day of October 1923, as aforesaid, shows that a majority
Of voters participating in-said election votbd in favor of that certain ordinance of
the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No. 57, entitled,
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in
the sum of SeventyFive thousand Dollars, for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived
from the sale thereof to be used to purchase and acquire the necessary land for a public
park, or parks, fair grounds play grounds, athletic field and golf grounds, and to im-
prove and develop the lands so purchased to make the same adaptable for the purposes
aforesaid,"
and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of $75,000.00 to be used for the purpose afore-
said, and
Whereas, it further appears from the returns of said election held on the 9th
day of October A.D.1923 in the City of Sanfad, Florida, as aforesaid, fAT the approval
or rejection of that certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida to -wit' Ordinance
No. 58, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida
in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars, the proceeds to be derived from the sale thereof
to be used to purchase flxrniture, fixtures and equipment for the Municipal Library,."
and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City of Sanford
Florida, to the amount of $5,000.00 bearing interest at the sate of Five and One -half
(5_9') per cenutm per annum, interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to mature July
1st, 1953, for the purposes set forth in said ordinance No. 59, have been made to
this Commission by the Inspectors of said election, and
Whereas,
said returns have been
duly canvassed by Said
Commission and the
canvass of said
returns shows 425 votes
to have been cast for
the approval of said ordinan e
and for the issuance of said bonds, and
149 Votes to have been cast against said ordinanc
and against the
issuance of said bonds,
and,
Whereas,
upon a complete canvass
of said returns it is
found that a majority of
279 votes were cast in favor of said Ordinance and in favor of
the issuance of said bonds
therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS COMMISSION, and it is so declared that the result of said
election held on the 9th day of October 1923, as aforesaid, shows that a majority of vote s
participating in said election voted in favor of that certain ordinance of the City of
Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No 58, entitled
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in
the sum of Five Thousand Dollars the proceeds to be derived from the sale thereof to
be used to purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment for the Municipal Library,"
and for the issuance of bonds in the Sum of $5,000.00 to be used for the purpose
aforesaid.
Adopted this loth day of October A.D.1923.
