The City Commission of the City of Sanford, FloriS~ met in adjourned session~
the City Hall, in o,:mford Florida at 2 O'Clock P E January 7th 1929.

Ninutes of adjourned session of the City Commission held January 5, 1929 read and
approved.
~ The W $ Dickey Clay Mfg. Co. offered to ourchase from the City of Sanford, three
bonds, Series A-l, Nos. 546, 547 and 548 , dated January l, 1928 and due January l, 1950,
drawing interest at the rate of Six Per Centum per annum, payable semi-annually, at and for
the price of $2957.41
Thereupon, after consideration, said offer of the U S Dickey Clay ,~g. Co. was ac-
cepted, and the Clerk was instructed to execute said bonds and deliver to the W S Dickey Clay
Mfg. Co., receiving therefrom re,c_eipt for account in full.of the W S Dickey Clay Mfg. Co,
amounting to $2957.41, against the City of Sanford, Florida.
The Pittsburg Testing Laboratories offered to purchase from the City of Sanford,
Florida one bond , Series A-1 No. 549, dated Jan l, 1928 and due Jan l, 1950, drawing interest.
at the.rate of Six Per cent,&m per annu~n , payable semi-annuallyi at and for the price of
~lO00.O0
The Pittsburg Testing Laboratories also offered, in lieu of cash to issue credit
memorandum for the above bond for $1,OO0.O0 to apply against the amount owed the Pittsburg
Testing Laboratories by the City of Sanford; also to issue additional credit memorandum
for $~83.6G, balance~ o£ account.
Thereupon, upon motion'duly adopted, the offer o£ the Pittsburgh Testing Laboratories
was accepted, and the Clerk instructed to execute the above bond, and deliver to the Pitts-
burgh Testing Laboratories, receiving therefrom, receipt of the account of the City of Sanford~
in full.
Commissioner Miller offered the following resolution, which was unanimously adopted:
WHEi%EAS, the City Co:~nission during the past year has had an undue amount of business
to transact, and
WHEREAS, the Commission re-assessed each and every piece of property on the Tax Books
of the City , and in so doing were caused to require the assistance of our City Clerk, F S.
Lamson to the extent of using him for a considerable time after his regular hours of employment.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that as a recognition for services rendered to us dur-
ing hours when his regular work ceased, that the City Commission of Sanford Florida, pay Mr
F S Lamson, City Clerk, the sum of Three Hundred Dollars.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Co~nission do compliment him on the manner in
which he has handled the affairs of the City during the past year, and do most highly recommend
him for future services to the City Co~nission.
Be ~T FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be spread upon the minutes,and made a
record of the City of Sanford, Florida.
Upon motion duly adopted, the 1927 personal tax of the L~iller-Erickson Funeral
Pa~ors was reduced $65.35~ .mud the 1927 Personal Tax of Frank L Miller was reduced ~20.o3
due to incorrect assessment.
Upon motion duly adopted, the Barker Poster Adv. Co. was granted a permit to erect
metal bill poster on the East side of Hellonville Ave, north of Celery Ave, provided said sign
co~orms with all requirements of the building code applicable to display signs.
Upon motion duly adopted, the City accepted deed from R H Walthottr and wife, Eaida
Walthour, for the following property: Beginning at the N.?~~. Cot, of Lot 7 Blk l~ Tier lC,
according 'to E R Tra£ford's Map of Sanford, Fla., run thence S ~long the East line of Holly
Ave., and parallel thereto a distance of 19.02 ft., thence East and parallel to the south
line o£ Twelfth St. to the right-of-way of the Atlantic Coast Line R.R. Co, thence north-
westerly along the Sly line of said R/W. to point of Beg.i and in exchange for the above
deed, Mr Jalthour is extended a credi~ of $168.92 a~aino~ ~he paving assessment against this
lot on Holly Avenue.
Invoices as evidenced by vouchers Nos 1~33, 1434 and 1435 approved for payment, and
the Clerk was instructed to draw checks in payment thereof.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned, to meet again at 1:30
