SANFORD, FLORIDA, COMMENDING A. EDWIN SHINHOLSER FOR
HIS SERVICE AS CITY ATTO~Y OF THE CITY OF SANFORD.
WHEREAS, A. EDWIN SHINHOLSER, has offered his resignation as City Attorney of the
City of Ssnford, Florida, effective October 1, 1955;
AND W~U£REAS, A. EDWIN SHINHOLSER hss, slnce October l, 1948, rendered to the City of
Sanford, Florida, outstsnding, f~thful and diligent service, constantly snd unselfishly
~'lvlng of himself and his time for the betterment and welfsre of this city and its people end
to the affairs of the City Commlss~on, ~1] beyond the strict call of duty, and it being the
desire and feeling ef~the oresent City Commission that pro,er recognition and appreciation be
expressed to A. EDWIN S}~NHOLSER for the conscientious effort be shown for the past seven
years in his capacity as City Attorney;
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Commlsslon that the sincere commendation
and appreciation of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, both for itself and on behalf
of the people of this community, be ~nd the same is hereby e~pressed to A. EDWIN SHINHOLSER
for his outstsndlng service as City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a certificate of recognition together with a silver tray
be presented to A EDWDIN SHINHOLSER as a further expression of the sincere appreciation and
high regard of the City Commission.

Mayor Cordell then oresented Mr. Sbinholser w~th the foregoing Resolution, together
w~th a silver tray as a further expression of apprecistlon for services rendered in his
capacity as City Attorney.
The City Manager next submitted request for confirmati~ of appointment of Russell
Dallas as Superintendent of the Utility Department, but in view of him resid~g outside of
the City Limits, action was deferred, pending information as to whether he will consent to
move into the City.
The City Manager next submitted the following tabulation of bids, which were opened
publicly at 10:00 A. M. October 10, for furnishing motor vehicles and equipment in accordance
with specifications in the invitation for bids published in Senford Herald on September 27,
1955:

Florida, by unanimous vote had passed and adopted said Ordinance No. 566, entitled:

SECTION 16-70 OF CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF

thru 1~62; Water & Sewer Revenue Fund Sanford A~lantic National Bank Vouchers Nos. $2 thru ~6;
and Florida State Construction Trust Fund Vouchers Nos. 37 and 38.
In response to request of City Manager for clarification as to who has authority over
the Inspection Department, Commissioner Higginbotham ne~t moved that the Building Inspector be
accountable to the City Manager for adherance to the City o rdlna~es of all future construction
of buildings. Seconded by Commissioner Krider and carried.
On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Krider and carried,
the Commission next authorized the minimum license tax of $100.00 for King Circus to show in
Sanford on November $, 1955, which is being
