Adjourned Regular Session April 20,
The City Commission of the City of Sa~ford, Florida Ne~ in adjourned session on the
20th day of April 1926 at l~ O'Clock ....E. at the Oity Hall at Sanford Florida, for the
purpose of canvassing the returns of the the bond election held in the City of Sanford
Florida on the 19th day of April 1926.
Present: Commissioners, Forrest Lake, S 0 Chase and E F Housholder.
Absent: None.
The City Commission then preceeded to canvass the returns of the bond election held
on April 19th 1926, for the approval or rejection of:
Ordinance No. llO of the City of Sar~ford Florida entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida in the sum of
Five Hundred and Seventy five thousand dollars for Nunicipal Purposes, the proceeds derived
from the sale thereof to be used to enlarge, improve and extend the sewerage system of the
City of Sanford, Florida,"
Ordinance No. Ill, of the 0ity of Sanford, Florida, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sa~ford, Florida, in the sum
of One Hundred Thousand Dollars for Nunicipal purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale there
of to be used to defray the cost of opening, grading, curbing, paving, and improving certain
streets and thoroughfares in the City of Sanford, Florida."
Ordinance No. ll2, of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled:
An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida in the ~ sum of

Two Hundred Thousand Dollars for Nunicipa~ Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof
to be used to improve, enlarge, and extend the gas plant and system of the City of Sanford,
Florida."
Ordinance No. ll6 of the City of Sar~ord, Florida entitled:
"An Ordinance providirE for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the sum of
One Hundred Thousand Dollars for Eunicipal purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof
to be used to build, a~ud equip a Nunicipal Hospital."

street lighting equipment, commonly known as a white-way-system, for certain streets and
thoroughfares in the City of Sznford, Florida,
Ordinance No. ll9 of the City of Sanford, Florida entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanfford, Florida in the sum of
Four Hundred Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale
thereof to be used to establish , build and construct docks and wharves in the City of

Whereupon the following order and resolution was duly passed and adopted: ~

sewerage system of the City of Sanford, Florida,"
and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City of Sanfo~d
Florida to the amount of $575,000.00, bearing interest at the rate of five and one-half
(5½%) Per centum per annum, interest payable semi-annually, said bonds to mature thirty I
years from the date of the issuance thereof, for the purposes set forth in said ordinanc~
No. llO, have been made to this Commission by the Inspectors of said election, and

Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said returns it is found that a majority of 521
votes was cast in favor of said Ordinance and in favor of the issuance of said bonds,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CONNISSION,
held on the 19th day of April A.D.1926,

and it is so declared that the result of said electiqn
as aforesaid, shows that a majority of voters par-
ticipating in said election voted in favor of that certain Ordinance of the City of Sanford
Florida, to-wit: Ordinance No. llO, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanfford, Florida, in the
sum of Five Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand Dollars for municipal purposes, the proceeds
derived from the sale thereof to be used to enlarge, improve and extend the sewerage system
of the City of Sanford, Florida,"
and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of

Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed by said Commission , and the canvass
of said returns shows 589 votes to have been cast for the approval of said Ordinance, and for
the issuance of said bonds, and 89 votes to have been cast against the app=oval of said Ordi-
nance, and agairst the issuance of said bonds, and
Whereas, upon a co~plete canvass of said returns it is found that a majority of
500 votes was cast in favor of said ordinance and in favor of the issuance of said bonds,
~herefore;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CO~[ISSION, and it is so declared, that the result of said
election held on the 19th day of April A.D.1926, as aforesaid, shows that a majority of voterz.
participating in said election voted in favor of that certain Ordinance of the City of Sanfor~
Florida, to-wit: Ordinance No. lll, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds, by the City of Sanford, Florida, in

Street to Third Street, to a width of 50 feet instead of 30 feet , as heretofore author-

and moved its adoption. Said motion, which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous
vote of the City Con~ission. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that

in building constructing a bulkhead or retaining wall in East Side Bulkhead District along the
shore of Lake Monroe and in filling in, reclaiming and bringing to a topographical level pri-
vately owned lands embraced in the territorial limits of said East Side Bulkhead District in
the City of Sanford, Florida, created and established by Ordinance No. 9~, duly adopted April
13, 1925, prescribing the form and conditions of said bonds to be so issued and providing a
Sinking Fund for the payment of the principal and interest of said bonds,"
and moved its adoption. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote of
the City Commission. There~oon the Chairman of the Commission announced that the City Commission
of the City o£ Sanford, Florida had duly passed and adopted that certain Resolution, n~mbered
275, entitled:

Thereupom, Commissioner E F Housholder introduced the following resolution ~276
entitled:
"A Resolution providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida in the sum
of Eight one Thousand Dollars, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to Be used to
finance the proportionate part of the cost assessed against privately owned propert~ in East
Side B~tlhead District No. 2, in building and constructing a Bulkhead or retaining Wall in
East Side Bulkhead District No. 2 along the shore of Lake Monroe, and in filling in, re-
claiming and bringing to a topographical level privately owned lands embraced in the terri-

reclaiming and bringing to a topographical level privately owned lands embraced in the ter-
~itOrial limits of said west side Bulkhead district in the City of San£ord, Florida, created
and established by Ordinance No. 105, duly adopted on the 12th day of October 1925,
prescribing the form and conditions of said bonds to be so issued and providing a sinking
fund for the payment of the principal and interest of said bonds,"
and moved its adoption. Said motion which was duly seconded, prevalied by the unanimous
vote of the City Co~muission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Commission announced that the

was read and following was ordered and spread upon the minutes:
"It is hereby ordered by the Commissioners of the City of Sanford Florida that the form
of Contract between the said City of Sanford and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company
by the provisions of which the said Railroad Company grants to the said City the right or
