WORK SESSION
Senior Project Manager Andrew Thomas said that the Alliance held its first
meeting on May 10 at Calvary Temple where about fifty ministers attended. Since that time
they have identified co- chairs of groups and changed the name to Sanford Pastors
Connecting. The first proposed activity is a mass prayer on July 31 at the Police Department
from noon to 1 PM. They are discussing activities which include pulpit swap, prayer
breakfasts and lunches, dialogue on race, and monitoring of the trial. The Sheriff made
arrangements for ten of the ministers to have reserved seating at each of the court
appearances so they can stay in the loop and understand what is going on and bring
information back to the community. The group will meet again for a prayer breakfast on July

Mr. Thomas said the anti violence campaign group will meet on June 28 to
begin discussions about crime related activity and the best practices to address it.
