The City COmmission of the City of Sanford Florida met in adjourned sessiom im
the 0ity Hall at Sanford Florida at 2 O'Clock P M July 24, 1928.
P resent: Commissioner E F Housholder, Mayor.

Absent: 0omm~ssioner S 0 Chase.
Upon motion duly adopted, the 01erk was ordered to open up a Special O~ecking Account
at the Sanford Atlantic ~ation&l Bank to be known as "Warrant Redemption Account" and to
deposit in said account the sum of $17,00~.57 , said deposit to be by check drawn on the 01fy
of 5a~feld OrdinaryFun~.
The 0Aerk was also instructed ~o nave issued against funds in said "Warrant Re-
demption Account" a certificate of deposit payable to the City of Sam_ford, Florida, for the
sum of $1/,OO5.5~.
Thereupon, the Clerk w~s ordered to address the following letter to the Sanford
Atlsmtic 2ational Bank of Sanford, Florida to-wit:
Sanfora Amlantic National Bank
Sanford, Florida.
Gentlemen:

If you will handle this transaction fora. ts, as above outlineS, the same will be
greatly appreciated.

Committee from the 0hamber of Commerce appeared before the 0ommission with regard to
some development of the water front on City Property West of C~d ~ranch, b~ platting the
property into warehouse sites, opening Poplar Ave. from First St. to the Lake, dredging out
two canals adjoining these sites, and leasing these sites at nominal rental for a period of
years, title to be retained by the City to make the property exempt from taxes.
Before the above steps could be taken, it woula first be necessary to fill the property to
bring up to grade , the estimated cost of the project to the City to be approximately
$35,OO0.00
After discussion, the matter was taken under consideration and investigation as
to whether the same result could not be obtained with less expenditure by the City.

The National Cast Iron Pipe Oompany holds Warrants Nos 10~92} and 10493}, dated May
12, 1927 City of Sa~ford. The City would like ~ou to purchase these warrants for the account
of the Cimy of Sanford at and Xor the sum of $16,.22.82, plus interest at 6% pst annum on the
face of the w~rrants from January 2, 192S, to July 25, 1928, ma~ing a total of $17,OO5.57.
To pro,eot you in t~is transaction, we hand you herewith your certificate of deposits in ou~
favor, properly endorsed, for the sum of $17,O05.57. Which you are to retain as collateral
until the City can reimburse you for the amount you pay for these warrants, without interest.
