purpose of operating a Country Club; also to handle any other business that may come
before the Board at this time.
The Commission then proceeded to a lengthy duscussion of Mr. Davidson's proposition
to lease the Municipal Golf Course, and after careful consideration of both proposals,
Commissioner Hill moved that the City offer the aforesaid property for sale to Mr.
David~on at a price of $12,500.00 with a stipulation in the deed of conveyance that he
will maintain the present nine hole golf course and also re-open the back nine holes
and maintain an eighteen hole golf course within a period of two years; also, that
a reversion clause be embodied in the deed providing for the property to revert to the
City at such time it ceases to be used as a golf course, or, maintained in playing
condition.

On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Hill and carried, the Com-

of $168.00, to replace the old stove in the City Jail that has worn beyond repairs.
The Clerk next advised that the United States Department of Commerce is offering
a lot of surplus used equipment for sale to states, counties and municipalities, which
consists of automobiles, trucks, pumps, road machinery and other equipment located
in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee,
stating that he had obtained the prince list on some of the trucks and road machinery

condition.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, and in view of the fact that the City
is in need of two dump trucks, and two garbage trucks to replace those that have
worn to such an extent as to hinder their efficiency, and also in need of road
machinery to rebuild the dirt streets throughout the City, Commissioner Gut moved
that the Clerk be authorized and directed to make an 'inspection of this surplus equipment
offered for sale by the government, and to purchase at lease four trucks, a large
