The City Commission of the City of ianford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the
City Hall in the City of ianford, Florida at 2:00 o'clock P.M. December 20,1945.
Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Nayor.

Nesting called to order by the Chairman.
Consideration next given to the matter of compensating City employees in addition
to their regular salaries, for services rendered during the year 1945.
Thereupon Commissioner Lodge moved that all white employees that have been in the
employ of the City for more than one y~ar be paid a bonus of $10.00, and those employed
for less than one year be paid $5.00, including the Navy Shore Patrolmen assisting the
Police Department; and that all colored employees having been employed for more than
one year be paid $5.00, and those for less than one year be paid $3.00
Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried.
Com_~lssloner Lodge next moved that the City Clerk be paid an additional bonum in
amount of $50.00 for services rendered during the year 1945 because he was unable to
take a vacation.
Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried.
On motion duly, carried, the commis8ion next authorized the payment of $350.00
to Mayor Hlggins to apply toward expenses incurred by him in connection with negotiation8
with Navy and other Government Officials, including trips to Tallahassee and W~hington,
D.C. relative to working out a satisfactory disposal of the Sanford Naval Air Base, whereby,
it will-be granted to the City at such time it is declared surplus to the Navy.
There being no further business the meeting then adjourned until lO:O0 o'clock A.N.
December 22, 1945.
