Meetin~ called to order by the
Secretary.
Members present:

Andrew Carraway

City Manager McKibbin
Commissioner Carraway moved the requirements for due notice be waived; motion
seconded by Commissioner Nartina and carried unanimously.
Commissioner Martina moved that the proposal to the New York Giants as approved
the t~ special City Commission Meeting of Nay i 1951, be revised to include a mainte-
nance payment of $2,000 , $1,500. of whleh to be paid by the City and $500.00 of which
to be paid by the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce, t)~t clay in the City cl~
pit be made available for construction of practice fields by the Giants, that due to
the commitment in hand on the Golf Course an answer be required by 15 Nay 195l, and that
the City Manager present this proposal together with the proposal authorized by the
Commission on 23, April, to the Giants in New York. Seconded by Commissioner Carraws~v
and carried. Commissioner Stemper voting YES with the following statement:" I vote
YES, even though I feel that we have extended ourselvee too far. The negotiations and
proposals that have been carried on lately makes it imperative that we either offer
these concessions to keep the New York Giants here in Sanford, or let them go elsewhere,
thereby losing the considerable investments made and committed previously by the City
Commission for and to the New York Giants.n Commissioner Nartina state he voted YES
for the reasons given by Commissioner Stemper and" I in nowise approve Mr.~hitney's
handling of the representation of the former action of the City Commission.#
