The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met 'in SpeCial session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford,. Florida, at ll:oo o'clock A. M. On October 9, 1957.

The meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Mr. John Krider, Manager of the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce, presented in-
formation that Allen Aircraft Company, Cleveland, Ohio, was deslrious of estahlishlnga sub-
sidiary Company, Allen Orlando Inc., in the locality of the City's well field site on route
17-92. This company would like to start construction of the first building of 6,500 sq. ft.
about November l, 1957, and have sufficient room for expansion,., It was also pointed out that
this company would employ about 25 men in addition to the ~ffice force.
Moved by Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissior~er Warner, and carried,
to grant Allen Orlando Inc., a deed to the Ncr th section Of approximately 296' x 532"of
City's wel]. field site on route 17-92 for a sum of $1,500.00. said deed to be held in escrow
by the Sanford Atlantic National Bank until all plans are completed and funds available for
construction of proposed building on this property.
Commissioner Higginbotham next brought up for consideration the cost-of-living
salary increase as proposed at City Commission meeting August 12, 1957, to be effective
October l, 1957. Each Commissioner present reported he had been contacted by one or two
employees questioning the base to be affected by the 3.6 Per cent increase. After discussion,
no action was taken pending further consideration.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
