The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 P. M. on July 29, 1968.

Commissioner Moore moved to waive the requirement of 24 hours written notice, and
to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried
by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
The City Manager apprised the Commission of the City of Sanford's present status
relative to the proposed acquisition and utilization of the property of the Sanford Naval
Air Station in that the Navy had now prepared for the City a lease to Building No. 145 to be
used for dead storage on August l, 1968, by the Holt Corporation, Arlington, Virginia.
The City Manager further outlined that the Holt Corporation had further requested
the Ie~sing of ll9 buildings, including building No. 145, on the naval base property for
industrial purposes.
After discussion, Commissioner Moore moved to authorize the Mayor and the City Cler~
to execute the l~ase with the Holt Corporation of Arlington, Virginia, to lease Buildings
1~2, 145, 146 and 1~7 at the annual rate of 50¢ per square foot; Buildings 148, 149, 256 and
131 at the annual rate of 60¢ per square foot; Buildings 255 and 5 at the annual rate of 75¢
per square foot; Buildings 289, 296, 297 and 332 at the annual rate of $1.00 per square foot;
and the ramp space at an annual rate of 2¢ per square foot and that the above leases are to
be contingent upon final settlement with the General Services Administration. Seconded by
Commissioner Higginbotham and carried.
After consideration, Commissioner Moore moved to authorize that the City Attorney
be instructed to draw uP a letter of intent that the City of Sanford will negotiate with
the Holt Corporation for the additional 105 buildings on the naval air station property, as
outlined in their letter of request, contingent upon the buildings being released to the
City and with the lease fee for same to be arrived at in the future. Seconded by Commis-
sioner Higginbotham and carried.
There being no further business, Commissioner Higginbotham moved that the special
meeting be adjourned.
