The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 11:00 o'clock A. M. on June 9, 1971.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee ~. Moore
Commissioner James H. Crapps
Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer
Commissioner W. Vincent Roberts
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler
Commissioner Meyer moved to waive the requirement of twenty-four hours written notice,
and to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried
by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
Arthur Harris, Chairman, David N. Berrien, B. C. Conklin, Robert E. Karns, members of
the Zoning and Planning Commission, and Gerald L. Dake, City Planner, were present to submit a
proposed General Land Use Map, part of a Long Range Development Plan for the City of Sanford,
to be utilized as a guideline in coordination for preparation of a new zoning ordinance and a
new zoning map.
After discussion, Commissioner Meyer moved to accept the General Land Use Map as pre-
~ared by City Planner Gerald L. Dake and recommended by the Zoning and Planning Commission and
said map to be signed by the Mayor and dated June 9, 1971. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom
and carried.
The Commission next authorized a meeting to be held on June 30, 1971, at 11:00 o'clOck
A. M. with the Zoning and Planning Commission and the City Planner for further discussion of
proposed Capital Improvements.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
