HomeMy WebLinkAbout080471 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida August 4 at 8:00 P.M. 19 71 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Called Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on August 4, 1971. Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore Commissioner James H. Crapps Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer Commissioner W. Vincent Roberts Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr. Police Chief Ben E. Butler Commissioner Roberts moved to waive the requirement of the twenty-four hours written notice, and to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission. The first item of business was a letter from the State Department of Transportation concerning the holding of a public hearing, if requested, regarding the proposed construction of a bridge over the St. Johns River on State Road 415, east of Sanford. After discussion, the City Manager was authorized to communicate with Seminole County Commissioners and the long range planning committee of the Greater Sanford Chamber of Commerce, to determine their action in regards to the public hearing and to support their stand. Consideration next given to annexation of property and construction in progress west of the City, and on motion of Commissioner Roberts, seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried, the City Attorney was authorized to prepare a Resolution to request an interchange at the intersection of Highway I-4 and State Road 46-A. The Commission then proceeded to study the 1971-72 proposed budget, and there being no further business, the meeting adjourned. ATTEST: lm MAYOR
