The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Called Session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on August 12, 1971.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner James H. Crapps
Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer
Commissioner W. Vincent Roberts
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr.
Police Chief Ben E. Butler
Commissioner Meyer moved to waive the requirement of the twenty-four hours written
notice, and to'call the meeting into special session.
carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
After consideration, Commissioner Roberts moved to authorize the City Attorney to
prepare an ordinance to amend Section 23-8 of Chapter 23, The Code of the City of Sanford,as
amended, to establish a uniform 10% tax on utilities.

expended quarterly on a reimbursable basis to the Greater Sanf°rd Chamber of Commerce upon

membership of the Sanford Airport and the Greater Sanford Chamber of Commerce on the proposed
Seminole County Industrial promotion board. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance to
amend Ordinance No. 1001, the Uniform Pay Schedule, by an increase of 5%. Seconded by Commis-
sioner Crapps and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Roberts.
Commissioner Meyer moved to set the pay scale in the proposed uniform pay schedule
for the Building Official at $10,300.00. Seconded by Commissiongr Stenstrom and carried.
Commissioner Stenstrom moved to increase to $3,000.00 the salary of the City Prosecu-
tor in the proposed budget for 1971-72. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried]
Commissioner Meyer moved to increase to $5,400.00 the salary of the Municipal Judge
in the proposed budget for 1971-72. .Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and Carried.
Commissioner Roberts moved to increaSe to $4,200.00 the salary of the City Physician
in the propOsed budget for 1971-72. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the purchase of a McGraw-Edison recorder/
from Account No. 1212, and authorize a transfe:
transcriber with four microphones, in amognt of $1,473.92,/from contingency for same. Seconded
by Commissioner Crapps and carried.
