The City Commission of the CitY of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:00 o'cloCk P, M, on October 2, 1972.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner John G. Morris
Commissioner Gordon Meyer
Commissioner Julian L. StenStrom'
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tatum, Jr.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Cliff Nelson appeared, to give a status report on the efforts of the Sanford Zoologica
Society to develop and fund a Central Florida Zoological Park and. Botanical Garden. He 'fore-
cast receipt of donations, pledges and governmental matching funds in the total amount of
$511,000.00 to be received, by April 1, 1973. Mr. Nelson further requested the cooperation of
the Commission to continue to fund. the operation of the City Zoo at the present location until
September 30, 1973, and same was taken under consideration by the Commission.
A letter was next submitted from the Board. of County Commissioners of Seminole County
setting forth an error of overpayment~in the amount of $5,132.00 in the distribution of the
Road. and Bridge Tax for 1970 and. requested, a refund. After consideration and. on motion of Com-
missioner Meyer, seconded, by Commissioner Morris :and carried, payment of same was authorized..
Statements next submitted in the amount of $25,425.00 from Pierce, Wulbern, Murphey
Corporation, and in the amount of $85000 from MOOdy Company, for fiscal serVices rendered in
the issuance of the Water and Sewer Revenue Certificates, Series 1971. After consideration,
Commissioner Meyer moved, to authorize payment of same.
carried.

Statement next submitted in the amount of $46,997.06 from Lee Construction Company
for estimate Number 5,1for work completed through September 25, 1972, on the Secondary Sewage
Treatment Plant; and after consideration, Commissioner Morris moved to authorize payment of
same. Seconded bY Commissioner Meyer and carried..
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
