The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock noon, December 6, 1972, for the
purpose of canvassing the Election Returns of the Municipal General Election held on December 5,
1972,
Present:
Mayor-CommissiOner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner A. A. McClanahan
Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer
CommiSsioner John G. Morris
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler
The Chairman called the meeting into session to canvass"the returns'~of the Municipal
Election held on December 5, 1972, for the purpose of electing a Mayor-City Commissioner and one
City Commissioner for a term of office of three years, commencing on the firSt,~Tuesday after
the first Monday in January, 1973, and on the question of approval of an 8mended City Charter.
Returns made by the Clerk and Inspectors of the election were examined and the absente,
ballots opened and examined by the City Clerk and the City Commission and recorded, as follows:

Commissioner Meyer then moved that the returns of the Clerk and'Inspectors of the
Municipal General Election held December 5, 1972, be accepted and the absentee ballots be
approved as recorded. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
Thereupon, Lee P. Moore, Group I, Mayor-City Commissioner and Gordon T. Meyer, Group
II, City Commissioner, were certified as duly elected to the respective offices, for terms to
commence on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1973.
On motion of Commissioner Meyer, seconded, by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried, the
City Clerk was authorized to direct a certified copy of the City Charter amendment and certifi-
cate of results to the office of Secretary of State.

On motion of Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried,
the Clerk and Inspectors working the 1972 Municipal General Election were authorized to be
paid at the rate of $1.60 per hour.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
