The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 1'!30 o'clock P. M , January 11, 1973.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner A. A. McClanahan
Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer
Commissioner John G. Morris
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
City Attorney C. Vernon Mize, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: Police Chief Ben E. Butler
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Commissioner McClanahan moved to waive the requirement of the twenty-four hours
written notice and to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer
and carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
The City Manager reported that his offices had been informed that the President of
the United States had rescinded the limits of a maximum 5.5% wage increase under Phase II of
the Pay and Price Stabalization Plan, as to the controls covering the operation of the City
of Sanford.
After discussion, Commissioner Meyer moved to place into effect immediately the pay
plan adopted by the City Commission on October 1, 1972, and to pay retroactive to said da~e
that portion of approved salaries which were withheld due to the controls of Phase II. Seconded
by Commissioner McClanahan and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
