The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:15 o'clock P. M. on June 4, 1973.
Present:
Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner A. A. McClanahan
Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer
Commissioner John G. Morris
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
City~Attorney C. Vernon Mize, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent:
Police Chief Ben E. Butler
Commissioner Meyer moved, to waive the requirement of the twemty-four hours written
notice and to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and
carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
After consideration andcon motion of Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner
Stenstrom and :carried, the Auto-Train Corporation was authorized to install additional tracks
across Persimmon Avenue in accordance with letter dated June~l, 1973, as follows.:

Dear Mr. Lazenby:
Materials have been received and arrangements made
to make crossings of two tracks across PersimmOn Avenue
June 5, 1973, at a later date crossing is to be moved
and a third crossing installed. Drawings have been
furnished your office as toi!.locations of tracks to be in-
stalled & relocation of fourth track. A detour has been
arranged so as not to hold up traffic.
Auto Train will pay all costs to run any underground
utilities within the right of way now and/or at a later
date.
It is further stated that Auto Train has no objections;
to being annexed into the City of Sanford; however, we
are not the owners of the property and our desires cannot
be taken as that of the owners.
I~ is requested that in compliance with the requests
of the City of Sanford that a permit be issued to give
Auto Train permission to make crossings as shown on pre-
viously submitted drawings.

D. L. Smith, Commercial Agents Seaboard Coastline Railroad Company, appeared to sub-
mit a request to construct a track across that portion of Ninth Street lying between Holly
Avenue and Poplar Avenue and to vacate a track immediately west of the proposed crossing.
Commissioner Stenstrom moved to approve the request. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and
carried.
