M. __1974 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida on July 1, 1974 at 4:00 o'clock P. M. Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore Commissioner John G. Morris Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer City Attorney C. Vernon Mize, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: Commissioner A. A. McClanahan Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom Police Chief Ben E. Butler R. E. Williams and John Dragash appeared to support a request for a partial final payment of a statement from R. E. Williams Construction Company in the amount of $46,245.00 for work on the Sanford Law Enforcement Center, leaving a retainage of $5,000.00. On recom- mendation oflthe City Manager and the Architect, Commissioner Morris moved to authorize pay- ment of same. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. Commissioner Morris moved to table discussion of a drainage system in the San Lanta Subdivision. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. On recommendation of the Building Official, Commissioner Meyer moved to reappoint members to the Central Examining Board for two year terms to April 1976, as follows: William Halback E. C. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. On recommendation of the License Official, Commissioner Morris moved to authorize an exempt license for a "Going Out of Business Sale" to Bridges Lighting Center, until July 13, 1974. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. The City Manager recommended to retain the services of Paul Pothin, a professional labor relations consultant, to prepare city personnel and provide assistance in negotiations On motion of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Meyer, same was and contracts. aPproved. On recommendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Meyer moved to approve the salary reclassification of Janet Dougherty, Finance Department, from Secretary C to D ($5,928), year in grade 7/11/74. Seconded by Commissioner Morris and carried. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and The City Manager recommended a transfer of funds in amount of $75,611.22 from the Utility fund to reimburse Public Projects fund for expenditures of the South Sanford Force Main project.
