The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session in the
City Hall of the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on July 8, 1974.

Recommendation submitted from the Planning and Zoning Commission to amend the
Sanford City Code, Appendix A, Zoning Ordinance, Article VI, Section 2, Paragraph (18) as
follows:
(18) Drug Stores and Super Markets: Ten spaces for each
1,000 square feet of retail floor area.
The City Manager was authorized to discuss this with the Planning and Zoning Commission.
On recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Commissioner Meyer moved
to accept the prdjected 1990 population for the Sanford area as submitted by the City Plan-
ner for the Comprehensive Plan under the Seminole County Comprehensive Planning Act of 1974.
Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried.
On 'motion of Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Morris and carried,
· minutes of July 15, 1974 were approved.
The City Manager reported the paving had not been started on the parking area for
the Sanford Auction Market on French Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets. The Commission
authorized the City Manager to request the owner, Bill George, to appear at the meeting of
August 5, to discuss the progress of this paving.
Request submitted by Captain John Williams to utilize the floating piers in the
West basin of the 'marina, now under lease to Holiday Inn, Inc. The City Manager was autho-
rized to relay the Commission's feeling that Captain Williams should work out an agreement
with the leasee~ and submit same to the City Commission for concurrence.
Request submitted by the Tri-County Road Runners CB Radio Club for ride concessions
to use the parking lot at the .Chamber of Commerce Building o.n October 27, 1974 to raise
~money for their organization, Commissioner McClanahan moved to authorize same upon submission
of the proper insurance. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
The City Manager was authorized to write letters to the Florida Congressional
delegation to eliminate the Mandatory Crude and Product allocation program which results
in increasing gasoline prices.
On 'motion of Commissioner,Morris, seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried, the
City Manager was authorized to start proceedings for a referendum vote on drainage at the
December election.
Commissioner Meyer ~moved to appoint Walt Carpenter to the Insurance Committee.

tures for condemnation; and to authorize a notice to be placed'Upon each structure; and a

known address as shown by the Tax ASSessment Roll of the City. Seconded by CommissiOner
Stenstrom and carried.
