The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida ~met in regular' session in the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on October 14, 1974.

A public hearing was held in accordance with notice published in the Evening Herald
on October 2, 1974, as followS:

THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA.
NotiCe is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held at the
Commission Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at
7:00 o'clock P. M. on October 14, 1974 to consider changes and amend-
ments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, as follows:
That property lying East of Elm Avenue and between 15th Street
and the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad right of way is proposed
to be rezoned from SR-1A (Single-Family Residential Dwelling)
District to GC-2 (General Co'mmercial) District. said property
being more particularly described as follows:
Beg 10 ch S and 670 ft E of NW cor of NE~, Run E 109 ft,
N to Railway, NWly to Pt N of Beg, S to Beg. 36-19-30.
Ail parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to
be heard at said hearing.

in favor of the proposed rezoning.
Those appearing in opposition were as follows:
M. L. Raborn, owner of property adjacent to that property proposed to be rezoned.
Connie Fowler, owner of property at 15th Street and Elm Avenue.
R. A. Cobb, owner of property on West 15th Street.
J. G. Lee, owner of property at 113 West 15th Street.
Danny Martin, petitioner, appeared in behalf of the proposed rezoning, and submitted
a petition with 11 signatures of people not in opposition to the rezoning. He stated the proper~
was planned to be used for a furniture warehouse, similar to the warehouse North of his property

to deny the request. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried over the opposing vote of

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held at the
Commission Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at
7:00 o'clock P. M. on October 14, 1974 to consider changes and amend-
ments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, as follows:
That property located at the southeast corner of the intersection
of Airport Boulevard and McCracken Road is proposed to be rezoned
from MR-1 (Multiple Family Residential Dwelling) District to GC-2
(General Commercial) District. Said property being more particu-
larly described as follows:
That part of Lot 73, M. M. Smith's Subdivision, according to
the plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 1, page 55 of the
Public Records of Seminole County, Florida described as fol-
lows: Beg at the intersection of the Sly r/w line of McCracken
Road and the Ely r/w line of Airport Boulevard, ~hence run

The Chairman announced that the Commission would hear from those persons in opposition
to or in favor of the proposed rezoning.
No one appeared in opposition.
John Alexander, Realtor, representing J. W. Alford, owner, appeared and stated that
the rezoning was needed to continue the existing use as a service station, later to be converted
with the approval of the Planning and Zoning Commission, to a 7-11 Store type operation with
self service gas pumps. He stated that the ~ter supply had been approved.
On recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Commissioner McClanahan
'moved to authorize the City Attorney to prepare the ordinance to rezone the property to GC-2.
Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried;

on September 24, 1974, as follows:
NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE CREATION
AND ADOPTION OF AIRPORT ZONING REGULATIONS.
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held at the
Commission Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at
7:00 o~clock P. M. on October 14, 1974, to consider the creation and
adoption of airport zoning regulations in accordance with Chapter 333.03
(1) Florida Statutes.
All parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity
to be heard at said hearing.

Commissioner Meyer 'moved to authorize the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance to
create and adopt Airport Zoning Regulations. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
Commissioner Meyer moved to table further consideration of the proposed ordinance
until October 21, at 4:00 P. M. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.

an ordinance by the City of Sanford, Florida, title of which is as
follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
CLOSING, VACATING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY LYING
BETWEEN 15TH STREET AND 18TH STREET AND BETWEEN
LAUREL AVENUEAND FRENCH AVENUE, RESERVING THE
USE OF SAID ALLEY UNTO THE CITY OF SANFORD FOR
UTILITY PURPOSES.

the Mayor was authorized to execute a lease for the dog pound, to be located at the Airport.
On recommendation of the City Engineer and the Acting City Manager, Commissioner
Morris 'moved to aUthorize:payment of statement from Clark, Dietz & Associates, for services
through September 30, 1974, in the amount of $15,599.70 from the Revenue Sharing Trust Fund
on the Street paving project. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
On recommendation of the City Engineer and the Acting City Manager, Commissioner
Stenstrom 'moved to authorize payment of Appropriation No. 5 in the amount of $407.65 to Ameri-
~can Steel Buildings, Inc. of Florida, from Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, for final payment on
the construction of a fire station. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried.
