The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session in the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on November 25, 1974.

A public hearing was held to consider the annexation of property-in ~adcordance with
notice published in the Evening Herald on October 24,31, and November 7, 14 and 21, 1974,

by Commissioner Morris and carried.

The police chief w~s authorized.to confer.with Mr. King, 2638 South Elm Avenue,
about removing two junk cars from a residential district.
Letter negt submitted from G. Troy Ray, Jr., Tax Collector, Seminole County, re-
questing a refund of 1973 Tax Certificate No. 135 to G. C. Kirk in amount of $739.10 due to
error in issuance, and on 'motion of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom

Commissioner Morris ~moved to authorize th~ 'lease of the Civic Center with serving
of alcoholic beverages for the Policemen's~Ball on De~.ember 14, 1974 and for the Auto-Train
Christmas Party of December 6, 1974. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried.
Commissioner Stenstrom ~moved to table consideration of policy on street paving
requirements for new or enlarged commercial structures for recommendations from the Planning
and Zoning Commission. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried.
Commissioner McClanahan'moved to amend the city policy on utility connections
outside the city to continue existing service, and all requests for new connections to be
submitted in writing to the City 'CommissiOn for consideration. Seconded by Commissioner
Meyer and carried.
Commissioner Meyer ~moved to authorize the City Manager to.set up an office at his
home for after hours work, and to authOrize the~use of a typewriter and ~typewriter stand
and a file cabinet. SecOnded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried.
Request submitted from James E. Moore, Trustee, to close and.vacate part of Lake
Minnie Drive lying between Lots 5 through 12,' Lake Minnie Estates. Commissioner Meyer moved
to authorize a public hearing to be held December 23 to consider same. Seconded by Commis-

The City Manager reported that Mrs. Margaret Chaseha~ submitte&i, her letter of
resignation from the Board of Trustees of the General Sanford Memorial Library. On 'motion

~and a letter of appreciation~as authorized for this service.
Request submitted by Mrs. W. G. Brown to park a ~mobile home on the rear of her
property at 1335 Elliott Avenue, until it can be sold. Commissioner Morris 'moved to autho-
rize same for 60 days and to waive the tie down requirements with the-sti:pulation that no
utility connections to be 'made to the trailer and not to be occupied. Seconded by Commis-
sioner McClanahan and carried.
Request submitted by the Downtown Business Association to use sidewalks on First
Street for vegetable sales and to park a concession stand at First Street and Magnolia Avenue
on November 26 and 27, 1974. On 'motion of Commissioner Stenstrom, seconded by Commissioner

The Commission authorized that new occupational license applications, be cleared
by the Zoning Office for the location to Comply with zoning and parking requirements and any
non-conforming parking request to be referred to the City Commission.
The Commission requested that city staff review!ithe revised flood prone map and
submit recommendations.
