The 'meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The first item of business was a discussion of double taxation.
Commission declined to consider the creation of a study group for same.
The Seminole County
The next item of business was the discussion of proposed joint paving projects,
as follows:
1. East 29th Street intersection at Magnolia Avenue.
2. East 28th Place intersection at Palmetto Avenue and one lot to the East.
3. East 28th Street (approximately 70 feet West from Palmetto Avenue.)
The Seminole County Commission indicated cooperation with this type of project.
The next item of business was discussion of the Pinecrest Park, maintained by the
City, and which is entirely within the City; however, the South two-thirds was deeded to
Seminole County. Commissioner Vihlen stated that the County Attorney had been authorized to
prepare the deed to the City of Sanford; and that it should be completed within a few days.
The next item of business was a discussion of parking problems around the Court
House and the City Hall. Commissioner Vihlen stated that the County Commission is aware of
the problems, and that they are working on them.
The next item of business was discussion of a sidewalk along 27th Street from San-
ford Avenue easterly to the Sanford City Limits. Commissioner Vihlen stated that they are
trying to obtain the right-of-way to extend the sidewalk from the West side of Pinecrest
School to 17-92.
The next item of business waa discussion of a regional library.
that the present library employees interest in the State Retirement System would have to be
protected through some type of agreement and the County Commission agreed.
The next item of business was discussion of an animal control agreement. CommiS-
sioner McClanahan explained that the City has three Animal Control Officers and a new dog
pound facility, and is keeping up with the problem in Sanford. Commissioner Vihlen stated
