A public'hearing was held~in aCCordance"~w~h notice published in'~the EVening Herald on May 1, 1975, as follows: NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE ADOPTION OF ~AN ORDINANCE .BY THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA. .' Notice is hereby:given that a Public ~Hearing 'will be held at the Commission Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon on May 15, 1975, to consider the adoption of an or- dinance by the City of Sanford, Florida, title of which is as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 1293 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1097 OF SAID CITY, SAID ORDINANCE BEING A ZONING PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, SAID AMENDMENT CHANGING THE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN PROMERTY LYING ON THE EAST SIDE OF SOUTH SANFORD AVENUE, BETWEEN AIRPORT BOULEVARD AND SANORA BOULEVARD TO PUD (PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT) MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT. A copy shall be available at the office of the City Clerk for all persons desiring to examine the same. Ail parties in interest and citimens shall have an opportunity to be heard at said hearing. After being read by title, Commissioner Morris moved on its passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried. Commissioner Stenstro'm abstained fro'm voting. Resolution No. 1191 was adopted~Said resolution being in words and figures as follows RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, URGING AND REQUESTING THE FLORIDA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND FLORIDA SENATE TO REPEAL THE SEMINOLE COUNTY COMPRE- HENSIVE PLANNING ACT AND TO INCLUDE SEMINOLE COUNTY AND ALL OF ITS MUNICIPALITIES IN THE PROPOSED LAND PLANNING ACT WHICH WILL APPLY TO THE ENTIRE . · STATE OF ELORIDA. WHEREAS, the ~municipalities within Seminole County have long the need for comprehensive land plannin~g' and been concerned with WHEREAS, the Florida Legislature in its regular i974 session enacted the Seminole County Comprehensive Planning Act whi:ch reSulted in Seminole County and the seven incorporated ~municipalities prOceeding with the necessary action to implement the requirements of said Act, and WHEREAS, similar legislation to adopt a Comprehensive Planning Act for the entire State of Florida has been introduced in both the Florida Senate and Florida House of Representatives in the current legislative session, and WHEREAS, the City of Sanford has been consistently in favor of cOmprehensive land planning, but has also been consistently opposed to the Seminole County Comprehensive Planning Act on the ground that the City Commission feels that it was unfair to single out one County for such Act, and it is. ~he.express desire of the City Commission that the present Seminole County Comprehensive Planning Act be repealed so that Seminole County and its seven · municipalities will be included in the Planning Act which will apply to the other sixty six Counties of the State of Florida. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, respectfully requests and urges the Florida Legislature to repeal the present Seminole County Comprehensive planning Act and to include Seminole County and its seven 'municipalities in the general Act providing for comprehensive land planning on a State-wide basis. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be immediately furnished to the Seminole County Legislative Delegation, the Seminole County Commission, all municipalities within Seminole County and such Committee Chairmen in the Florida House of Representatives and Florida Senate as deemed appropriate by the City Manager of the City of Sanford, Florida.
