M. on November 17, 19.75. Present: Absent: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore Commissioner John G. Morri~ Commissioner A. A. McClanahan Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom Commissioner Go~don T. On recommendation of the Minimum Housing Code Inspector and the City Manager, Com- · missioner McClanahan moved to au'thorize;time extensions on condemnations as follows: Group Report .. Dr J C Ringling Approved by the City Manager. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried. The City Manager submitted a tabulation of bids~i'ifor furnishing a turf sweeper as follows: Zaun Equipment Company $4,260. Tresca Industries, Inc. $5,165. The City Manager reported the Zaun unit did not meet specifications. Commissioner Stenstrom 'moved to accept the bid from Tresca Industries in the amount of $5,165. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. Commissioner McClanahan moved to authorize the City Attorney to prepare the proper ordinance to adopt the 1976;Edition of the National Fire Codes, and to designate a copy to be kept by the Fire Department. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. On recommendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Meyer moved to authoriZe a transfer of $1,800 from Contingency for ten guns and leather for the Police Pistol Team. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried. On reco'mmendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize pay- ment of $3,236.90 to Attorney Jessie Sparks for Workmen's Compensation case of Eddie L. Smith vs. City of Sanford, and transfer from Contingency for same. Seconded by Commissioner Sten- strom and carried. Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize expenditure of approximately $1,375 from Renewal and Replacement Fund to oversize from six inches to eight inches the water line to the proposed Ginderville Heights housing project on South Sanford Avenue. Seconded by Com- missioner Stenstrom and carried. Commissioner McClanahan moved to table consideration of installing fire hydrants :i MIN U T E S Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the City Manager to attend a Florida Unemploy- ment Compensation Law 'meeting with Mr. John Wesley White, Director of Division of Employment Security, in Tallahassee on November 21, and to authorize transfer from Contingency in amount of $85.00 to provide for same. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried. Commissioner McClanahan moved to authorize actions as follows: a. Installation of a sidewalk on the South side of 27th Street inside the City Limits from French Avenue West to the shopping center, and transfer of $500 from Contingency toTprovide for material for same. b. City Manager to work out an agreement with the Board of Public Instruction to supply the 'material and the City to install the sidewalk on the South side of 27th Street at Pinecrest School. Seconded by Commissioner. Stenstrom and carried. On recommendation, of the City Manager, Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the addition of paragraphs to the Lake Mary Water Purchase Contract as follows: (a). City of Sanford to have the option of terminating service by giving not less than 60 days advance written notice of the effective date of terminations. (b). Add paragraph 13: That this contract is hereby pledged to the United States of America, acting through the Farmer's Home Administration as part of the security, of a loan from the United States of America. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried. The City Manager submitted estimated cost in amount of $378 for seven street lights on South Sanford Avenue from Airport Boulevard South to the City Lim~S. commissioner Meyer moved to authorize transfer of $378 from Contingency for same, Stenstrom and carried. Seconded by ..Commissioner The City Attorney reported that Jack Caolo, Attorney for Bonnie Bro~, Plaintiff, had offered to settle a claim against the City for $25,000, and further, recommended to reject the offer. Commissioner McClanahan moved to authorize the City Attorney to reject the offer. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
