HomeMy WebLinkAbout120175-Regular SessionM. INUTES The City COmmission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. on December 1, 1975. Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore Commissioner John G. Morris Commissioner A. A. McClanahan Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom Commissioner Gordon~T. Meyer City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: City Attorney C. Vernon Mize, Jr. Police Chief Ben E. Butler The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. On recommendation of the Building Official, and on approval of the City Manager, Commissioner McClanahan moved to authorize a 90 day time extension on Condemnation No. 74-540, 815 Pecan Avenue, Vernice W. DeBose, owner. Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried. On 'motion of Commissioner Stenstrom, seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried, minutes of November 17, 20 and 24, 1975, were approved. Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the Mayor, City Clerk and City Attorney access to Safe Deposit Box No. 177 in the Atlantic National Bank of Sanfo~d. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried. On recommendation of the City Engineer, Commissioner Mc~lanahan moved to authorize payment of the November Retainer Fee in the amount of $350 to City Planner Dave Farr. Seconded by Co~nissioner Meyer and carried. of the corner of First Street and Sanford Avenue to sell booth spaces for display of crafts a~d food sales, with proceeds to be used toward the book "We Also Ran". The City Manager was autho- rized to offer the use of the City parking lot on First Street at the Chamber of Commerce Building. J. Brailey Odham, developer, appeared to discuss water service to Ginderville Heights Subdivision. , Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the following: 1. Rescind action of November 24 to require 10 year advance payment of rental of two fire hydrants and to authorize five year advance rental on fire hydrants in the Ginderville Heights water system in amount of $250 each. 2. $500 water tap fee for each residence to include cost of the water meter. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried. Sara Jacobson, representing the Downtown Development Council, appeared to request sufficient time to permit the Downtown Development Council to make a report and recommenda- tion on the location of a new city hall building. Commissioner Morris moved to hold in abeyance any action to select an architect for the new city hall until after the first of the year; and during that~time, to authorize the Request submitted from Mrs. Alfreda Wallace, Chairperson of the Black Program Committ!e Seminole County Bicentennial Committee to use the park maintained by the City at the ~. ,MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida December 1 at 4:00 P. M. ~9,_ '75 MIDSTATE LEGAL SUPPLY COMPANY Co~issioner Meyer moved to mend the foregoing motion for the time frame to be by February 1, 1976, instead of after the first of the!!year. Seconded by Co~issioner Morris and carried. .~ The ~airman then called for a vote on the original motion as amended, and same was carried by the unanimous vote of the Co'mission.
