The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, 'met in special session in the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 11:00 o'clock A. M. on February 5, 1976.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner John G. Morris
Commissioner A. A. McClanahan
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
Commissioner Gordon T. Meyer
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: City Attorney C. Vernon Mize, Jr.
Police Chief Ben E. Butler
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The Mayor announced that the meeting had been called to discuss funding of emergency
public works projects, under bills pending in Congress, and to consider action for the City
to apply to the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Admin~ tration.
After discussion, Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize the City Manager to cooperate
with Seminole County efforts to be designated as a distress area .of 10% unemployment, and
to assist in filing of an application. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried.
Commissioner~ Meye~ ~moved that the City Commission~proceed~with preparation of the
design of a new City Hall building. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
