The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session in
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:00 o'clock P. M.'on June 14, 1976.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
A public hearing was held in accordance with notice published in the Evening Herald
on June 3, 1976, as follows:
NOTICE
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:00 o'clock
P. M. on June 14, 1976, in the Commission Room, at the City Hall in the
City of Sanford, Florida, will hear comments regarding the amending
of its HUD Community Development Block Grant for an Open Space Project
in the Goldsboro area, census tract 0205.
The amendment will transfer funds from land acquisition t° site
development in order to develop two sites instead of one as in the orig-
inal application.
Said Open Space Project and amendment have been considered by the
City Commission before the public at the regular meetings of January 26,
March 8 and May 24, 1976.
Ail parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity
to be heard at said meeting.

The Chairman announced that the Commission would hear from ~those persons present
to speak in favor of, or in opposition to, the proposed amendment. No one appeared.
Commissioner Morris moved to amend the application to transfer funds from land ac-
quisition to site development i'n order to develop two sites instead of one as in the original
application. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.

Commissioner Morris moved to table consideration of acceptance of the bid until the

WHEREAS, there has been filed with the:City Clerk of the
City of~Sanford, Florida, a petition containing the names of the property
owners in the area described~hereinafter requesting annexation to the
corporate area of the City of Sanford, Florida, and requesting to be
included therein; and
WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Seminole County,
Florida, having certified that there are two)property owners in the
area to be annexed and that said property owners have signed the
petition for annexation, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the property described
hereinafter is contiguous to the!corporate area of the Gity of Sanford,
Florida, and it has further been determined'that the annexation of said~
property will not result in the creation of an enclave, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE
OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That that certain property in Seminole County,
Florida, described as follows be and the same is hereby annexed to
and made a part of the City of Sanford, Florida, pursuant to the
voluntary annexation provisions of Chapter 171.044, Laws of Florida,
1975:
East 1/2 of Lots 8 and 9, EVANS SUBDIVISION,
according to the plat thereof as recorded in Plat
Book 1, Page 17, Public Records of Seminole
County, Florida.
SECTION 2. That upon this ordinance becoming effective,
the residents and property owners i'm the property described herein
shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges and immunities as
are from time to time granted to residents and property owners of
the City of Sanford, Florida, and as are further provided in Chapter
171, Laws of Florida, 1975, and shalllfurther be subject to the
responsibilities of residence or ownership as may from time to time
be determined by the governing authority of the City of Sanford,
Florida, and the provisions of said Chapter 171, Laws of Florida, 1975.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately ~o'n its passage and adoption.
A copy shall be available at the office of the City Clerk for all

Request submitted for a transfer of a taxi-cab license from Youngs New Deal Cab to

Commissioner Stenstrom moved to authorize the Mayor to execute a contract with
Watson and Company, Orlando, Florida, at a fee.of 6~%, for architectural services for a new
City Hall. Seconded by CommissiOner Morris a~d carried.
The City Manager submitted a repOrt of streets recommended to be included in the
Revenue Sharing Trust Fund Street Paving Project, as follows:
Glenway Drive - complete to East 20th Street.
Locust Avenue - 20th Street to Glenway D~ive.
East 24th~Street - Summerlin Avenue to DeCottes·Avenue.
West 24th Street - Lake Avenue to Cedar Avenue.
Pecan Avenue - Third Street to Fifth Street.
East llth Street - reconstruct old paved section East of Sanford Avenue.
Commissioner Morris moved to authorize same~ Seconded ~y Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
The City Manager reported that~the Recreation Director had submitted a request
for funds to hold the 1977 State Little-Major League-Tournament in Sanford, for a $750 guaran-
tee bond, and for approximately $250 in overtime salaries. On recommendation of the City
Manager, Commissioner Morris moved to authorize approximately $250 in overtime salaries for
this Tournament. Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
Letter next submitted from Mrs. Wallace W. Bell, 2014 Elizabeth Court, commending
the Fire Department for their promptness, effeciency, and'courteoUs manner'with a fire problem
at her home.
On recommendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Stenstrom moved to authorize
salary reclassifications as follows:
