The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session in
the City Hallin the:City Of'Sanford,~ Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon on December 8, 1976.
Present: Mayor-Commissioner 'Lee P. Moore
Commissioner A.~A. McClanahan
Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom
Commissioner Gordon'T. Meyer
City Manager W, E~ Kndwles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: Commissioner John G. Morris
City'Attorney C.' Vernon Mize, Jr.
Police Chief 'Ben E. Butler
The Chairman called the meeting into session to canvass the returns of the Municipal
Election held-on De~ember'7, 1976~"for the purpose of electing a Mayor and tw° City Commis-
sioners for a term of office of four'years, commencing on the first Tuesday after the first
Monday in January, 1977.
Returns made by the Clerk and Inspectors~:of the election were examined and the ab-
sentee ballots opened and examined by'the City Clerk and the City Commission and recorded,
as follows:

Commissioner McClanahan moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the
election held December 7, 1976 be accepted and the absentee ballots be approved as recorded.
Seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried.
Thereupon, Lee P. Moore, Seat Mayor, and Julian L. Stenstrom, Seat No. 1, City
Commissioner, Were certified as duly elected to the respective offices, for terms to commence

on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1977.
The Chairman announced there would be a Run-Off General Election held on December 21,
1976, for City Commission Seat #2, for candidates as follows:

Gordon T. Meyer
Commissioner Meyer moved to pay the poll workers~.for the December 7, 1976 General
Election at the rate of $28.00 for Inspectors and-$33.00 for the Clerk. Seconded by Commis-
sioner Stenstrom and carried. ,
, Commissioner Meyer moved to authorize ~to.provide four voting machines for,said Run-
Off General Election. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and.carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourn_ed.,~
