M. on October 14, 1977 Present: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore Commissioner Julian L. Stenstrom Commissioner A. A. McClanahan Commissioner Eddie O. Keith City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Absent: Commissioner John G. Morris City Attorney C. Vernon Mize, Jr. Police Chief Wally LaPeters The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. The City Manager submitted a tabulation of bids for furniture and draperies for the new City Hall, as follows: City Hall Interior Furnishings: 1. Thomas W. Ruff and Company $69,021.50 2. R.E. Wilkerson and Company 72,394.70 3. Business Equipment Company 75,036.14 4. Harbin's Office Interiors, Inc. 77,873.00 5. The Furniture Source 80,194.65 City Hall Draperies - Shades - Pillows: 1. Jay Kay Interiors $21,444.95 2. Bartex Industries, Inc. 25,329.48 On recommendation of Ms. Margaret McCormick, Interior Designer, Commissioner Stenstrom moved to accept the low bid from Thomas W. Ruff and Company in amount of $69,021.50 for furnishings, and low bid from Jay Kay Interiors in amount of $21,444.95 for draperies, etc. Seconded by Commissioner McClanahan and carried. Letter submitted from James L. Cooper, General Manager, Seminole Cablevision, stating that a business office is manned and staffed in the City of Sanford, in compliance with the franchise; and that Seminole Cablevision is trying-to extend service to all areas of the City. Commissioner Stenstrom moved to authorize execution of the release of assignment of' the franchise from Seminole Cablevision to American Telephone and Communications Corporation. Seconded by Commissioner Keith and carried. The City Manager was authorized to be on vacation for one week beginning November. 4, 1977.
