MIDSTATE LEGAL SUPPLY COMPANY
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Organizational
Session in the City Commission Room of the City Hall at 12:O0 o'clock Noon on January 2,
1979.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The City Manager submitted a report on the use of private vehicles for municipal
work, and a proposed agreement between the City and employees using privately-owned
vehicles for city work.
He stated the City had obtained three ~ppraisals on a 1978 AMC Concord, in
amount of $3,400.00, $3,450.00, and $3,695.00, and recommended sale of same to R. Kelly for
use in the position of Pubti¢~:!~mks~..Director'.
On recommendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Morris moved to authorize the
aforesaid sale of car no. 131, in amount of $3,515.00, and to authorize the City Manager
to enter' into an agreement to pay a monthly vehicle allotment for private vehicles used in
city work to seven employees as follows:

Seconded by Commissioner Keith and carried.
The City Manager submitted a proposed operational agreement between the City of
Sanford, and Sanford Youth Baseball Association, Incorporated, for lease of the Roy Holler
Youth Baseball Field , Bay Avenue Baseball Field, Randall Chase Baseball Field and
Westside Youth Baseball Field from March 15 through August 15, 1979, with option for annual
renewal. On recommendation of ~the City Manager,
the Mayor was ~:~uthor. ized.;'ito .execute same.
There being no further old business to be transacted-.by the outgoing board,
Commissioner Stenstrom moved that the meeting adjourn sine die. Seconded by Commissioner
Morris and carried.
The Commission then reconvened for the purpose of organization.
The City Clerk then administer the Oath of Office to Commissioner-Elect John
G. Morris and Commissioner-Elect David T. Fart; each signed the Oath arid Acceptance of
Office and was seated, as Commissioners, of the City of Sanford, Florida.

Commissioner Morris moved on the passage and adoption of Resolution No. 1259.
Seconded by Commissioner Stenstrom and carried.
The Mayor then presented a plaque and a resolution of commendation to outgoing
Commissioner A. A. McClanahan. Said resolution being in words and figures as follows:

of the City of Sanford, Florida, from January 4, 1972 to January 2, 1979,
and
WHEREAS, A. A. '~MAC"i McCLA-NAHAN has now completed his term as

Commission of the City of SanfOrd, and
WHEREAS, A. A. "MAT" McCLANAHAN, in the performance of his duties
as a member of the City Commission has worked diligently and unselfishly
for the betterment and welfare of this City and its people; has devoted
to such services time and effort far above and beyond the Call of duty,
and it is the privilege and desire of the present City Commission to
express proper recognition and appreciation to this. member for the
conscientious service devoted to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the
City of Sanford, Florida, that the sincere commendation and appreciation
of the City Commission both for itself and for the people of this
community, be and the same is hereby expressed to A. A. "MAC"
McCLANAHAN for his outstanding contribution in public service, and
that a plaque be given him as a token of such commendation and
appreciat ion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that hhis Resolution be spread upon the
minutes of the City Commission and a copy hereof delivered to A. A.
"MAC" McCLANAHAN.
