City Commission. Sanford, Florida

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session in the
City Manager's Conference Room in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00
o'clock Noon on May 18, 1984.
Present:
Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
Commissioner Milton E. Smith
Commissioner Edward A. Yancey
Commissioner David T. Farr
Commissioner Edwin O. Keith
City Attorney William L. Colbert
Acting City Manager Steven D. Harriett
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Absent: City Manager W. E. Knowles
The Mayor announced that the first item was the consideration of the conditional
use for an auto salvage yard on Airport Boulevard, tabled at Regular Meeting of May 14,
1984.
Commissioner Smith moved to remove same from table. Seconded by Commissioner
Yancey and carried.
The City Attorney reported that he had received from the City Clerk a map and list
of the parcels within 200 feet of said au~:~ salvage yard which indicated that nine of the 21
parcels had not been notified, and therefore opined that another public hearing must be held
by the Planning and Zoning Commission after proper notice and advertising.
Commissioner Farr moved to refer the .request for a conditional use back to the
Planning and Zoning Commission and to authorize the proper notices and advertising for said
hearing, and further to refund to Mr. Leffler the funds submitted for the appeal from the
original Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.of March 15, 1984. Seconded by Commissioner
Yancey and carried.
The City Attorney reported that Ordinance No. 1697, placed on first reading on May
14, 1984 followed the advertisement for the public hearing to rezone the property to SR-1
(Single-Family Residential Dwelling) Dist~rict, however, the recommendation submitted from
the Planning and Zoning Commission on said date' was to rezone to "Modified PUD" District,
the Planning and Zoning Commission has undertaken.tO amend the Zoning Code to include such a
classification, and recommended that Ordinance No. 1697 be tabled until such time as an
ordinance is adopted for a Modified PUD District.
Commissioner Smith moved to table the second reading and adoption of Ordinance No.
1697. Seconded by Commissioner Yancey and carried.
Commissioner Keith moved to remove from table consideration of license
classification for food sales from a Bar-B-Q trailer, tabled at Regular Meeting of May 14,
1984. Seconded by Commissioner Farr and carried.
Commissioner Keith moved to authorize the City Manager's Staff to prepare
recommendations for a license classification and to permit ,temporary use under the minimum
restaurant classification. Seconded by Commissioner Farr ~.and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. ~
