City Commission, Sanford, Florida

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session in the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon on December 19, 1984.
Present: Acting Mayor-Commissioner Edwin O. Keith
Commissioner Milton E. Smith
Commissioner Edward A. Yancey
Commissioner David T. Farr
City Attorney William L. Colbert
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. ~
Absent: Mayor-Commissioner Lee P. Moore
The Chairman called the meeting into session to canvass the returns of the
Municipal Run-Off Election held on December 18, 1984, for the purpose of electing a Mayor
and a Commissioner.
Election returns and absentee ballots were received, opened and examined by the
City Clerk and the City Commission and recorded as follows:

Commissioner Yancey moved that the returns of the election held December 18, 1984
be accepted and the absentee ballots be approved as recorded. Seconded by Commissioner
Smith and carried.
Thereupon, Bettye D. Smith, Mayor, and John Y. Mercer, District 1, were each
certified as duly elected to said respective offices, for terms of four years to commence on
the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1985.
Commissioner Yancey moved to authorize payment in amount of $45.00 to Inspectors
and $50.00 to the Clerks, for work in the December 18, 1984 Run-Off Election. Seconded by
Commissioner Smith and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
