FOR THE YEAR 1948. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the amount determined necessary to be raised by taxation in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the year 1948, for the ordinary purposes of the Municipality and the Department of Debt Service is the sum ot $234,000.00. Section 2. That the millage for the ~ar 1948 to be assessed upon each dollar ot the assessed valuation of all of the taxable property, except Homesteads tot he assessed value of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 21.5000 mills, to be allooated as follows: Department of General Government Department of Debt Service 12.0000 mills 9.5000 mills I Section 3. That the Millage for the year 1948 to be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all Homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florid~ is hereby fixed at 9.5000 mills, to be allocated as follows: Department of Debt Service 9.5000 mills Section 4. Thatthere shall be and is hereby levied for the year 1948 upon eaoh dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property, except Homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 12.0000 mills for the purpose of real- izing a sum sufficient to meet and defray the neoessary ordinary running and operating expenses of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1948, and ending Sept- ember 30, 1949. Section 5. That t here shall be and is hereby levied for t he year 1948 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 7.3001 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest coupons maturing March 1, 1949, and September 1, 1949, on Refunding Bonds Series A, of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1937, and maturing September 1, 1977, and to create a Sinking Fund for the purchase or acquiring of bonds of said Series Aj a tax of .4511 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum to apply toward the payment of interest coupons maturing March 1, 1949, and Sep- tember 1, 1949, on Refunding Bonds Series C. D & E of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1941, and maturing September 1, 1977; and a tax of 1.7488 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay outstanding notes, contracts and interest thereon maturing during current fiscal year. Section 6. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 7. That this ordinance shall beco8e effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED this 27th day of September, 1948. .--, ".P"/,."
